It's not aim-assist...it's bullet magnetism. The game is heavy with both though. Aim assist can be shown when a enemy runs across your reticle and your reticle follows them a bit with no input. Bullet Magnetism is when your reticle is off, but the bullet shoots at an angle to get the head or where ever.
It's like when trying to shoot for a Phalanxs hand, but the bullet hits the shield. Even though you know from where the barrel is......the bullet should have hit the hand. Which is why you either close the distance, aim at an angle, use a different scope, or a different weapon.
