I'm starting to believe the "destiny's dying" threads.
Less people on LFG, less topics on the forums, etc.

When I read this update and saw that the next crucible update was December I couldn't believe it. What a letdown.

This number essentially means either: A) The number of people who actively care about PVP is significantly lower than Bungie (and the community) would have you believe; B) There is a precipitous drop off in active players across all platforms; OR C) Both. My money is on C.

I brought black ops 3 and I'm enjoying it, but it doesn't mean I'm done with Destiny ya know? Course there's going to be a drop in numbers, but that's because people want something new, but when that new thing gets boring then Destiny will pick up again because it'll have something new too...hopefully. I guess the only guys that won't be coming back are the ones that really did delete their accounts.

4 RepliesDefinitely less people, bungie is scrambling. New games are a threat to any developer, a game like destiny needs a fan base because they need a constant source of income, especially to run the servers. They need to improve more on their next dlc, people already expect shit from it. New raid, couple of new story missions and quest, time gated exotics.

4 RepliesSame here, I only find people every 3rd tower visit, strikes are almost always run by myself, and PoE has become a solo thing.

1 ReplyDestiny won't necessarily "die." It's a decent game that tries to improve. The problem is that the "improvement" sometimes equals more grind and honestly it hasn't really had any major competition. But, with all the new AAA games coming there's assuradly gonna be a loss in player base. Those who main PvP (I am more PvE myself) will most likely go to CoD or Halo. Especially with the holidays coming up. Starwars Battlefront will take a large variety of players, as in those who loved the other ones, those who like FPS, and just those who like Starwars. Finally, Fallout 4 is basically the PvE experience that Bungie promised except in a post apocalyptic world and has been a game we've waited -blam!-ING YEARS for. So yeah, Destiny is gonna be hurting but it assuradly won't "die"... not yet anyways.

You should've done so form the beginning. Games like these don't usually last very long but destiny is one of the few exceptions.

That's what happens when you introduce more games, people will split there time between them and spend more time to the newer games, which is what I'm planning to do once battle front comes out

2 RepliesIf loot systems didn't suck. If I could level up with my friends instead of getting left behind. If trials wasn't filled with cheaters. If Obama wasn't black. If I had the mats to upgrade gear. If the raid drops were worth it then I would be on destiny instead of on fallout in a few days.

1 ReplyDestiny is the Candy Crush of consoles: no substance, just time killing clicking (It's appropriate that Activision just bought CC). It will suffer a decline just like any other repetitive, empty game does. But, it will probably manage to keep enough people signed on because it's mindless fun. I still get on and play Flappy Birds from time to time, but I'm definately not putting any money into it. Keep enjoying Destiny for what it is to you.
