Rasputin was a Warmind built by the Seven Seraphs to protect humanity. Upon detecting the Darkness, he assumed total control of solar defenses. He said nothing to humanity, but secretly began to prepare. After fighting it a few times, Rasputin decided to completely shut off solar defenses and let the Darkness attack en masse.
