All you fools that keep complaining about cut content need to stop the insanity. Did you expect one flat fee of 60$ was going to carry you through the entire destiny experience?
So according to all you geniuses..
1. They aren't allowed to plan ahead
2. They aren't allowed to make money
3. They aren't allowed to plan ahead to make money
4. The only thing they are allowed to do is release a 60$ game with 10 years of replay ability..
no DLCs.. every DLC is just cut content..
CoD and BF have their map packs ready at launch so that's just cut content right? DLCs are supposed to be free.. because the company had already planned ahead and the content was held back at launch..??? That is how stupid you sound.

CoD is a bad example since it's also an Activision product. The same game gets released every year with new skins on it. Activision is easily the greediest company in gaming, even further proven by their acquisition of the second greediest company for an absolutely absurd amount of money.

Here's the problem - Bungie let us believe that they were creating all the content as they went along. Back when the "already on disc" accusations were flying around, Bungie scoffed and denied it and while most of the DLC probably wasn't already on disc, that wasn't the point. What they were ultimately being accused of by he community was already having this content made and just time-releasing it. They knew that was the basis of the accusation. If they had nothing to hide, they should have said [i]Look - yes, we already made this stuff, this is how we do things[/i]. Instead. they chose to be evasive and unresponsive to the majority of the accusations. When you can't give a straight-forward answer to your customer about your practices, you must be doing something you feel is at least a little unethical. Let me put it this way - if a meat processing plant wouldn't let you in for a tour of their facilities, you wouldn't take their word for it that everything is kosher, would you? And what if not letting the customer see what was going on behind doors was common practice for a meat processing plant? Would you then just shrug your shoulders and say[i] that's just how meat processing plants do things[/i] and continue to buy whatever products they crank out? Because that's exactly how we as video game consumers seem to handle these increasingly questionable practices by the game industry. Until we stop and say "wait a minute; we're getting tired of this shit", Activision and others are going to continue -blam!-ing us over because they view us as a bunch of passive nerds that complain but still take it in the ass at the end of the day. I notice with Bungie, if you accuse them of doing something they can legitimately deny, they'll quickly deny it. If you accuse them of something they probably are guilty of - radio silence/ zero attempt at clarifying to the customer. What kind of shit is that and why the -blam!- can't we get angry about it without someone shaming us?

I think you're missing the point of OPs metaphor... Nobody is saying that DLC has to be free, he's just saying that a large portion of the community is tired of being lied to. It would have been different if Bungie came out at the beginning and said [b]"HEY HERE'S ALL THIS COOL STUFF YOU CAN DO IN DESTINY. HOWEVER, THIS, THAT, THE OTHER THING, AND THE OTHER OTHER THING THAT YOU JUST SAW WILL BE UNDERWHELMING DLC THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR"[/b]. But they didn't, we were lied to when we were told the base destiny game was going to have way more content and features than it actually did at launch. The content was there, it was ready, they could have put it in the base game like they promised, but they didn't. So many people pre-ordered based on that (FALSE) Information. But if you're okay with these kinds of business tactics, do me a favour; Come buy a brand new Charger from my dealership. It'll cost you about $30,000. After you give me your money, I will gladly hand you four tires, a frame, and an engine. I'll sell the rest of the parts back to you as "Service Packages" [spoiler]Now who sounds stupid[/spoiler]

It's the way they make money that is so bad. They took out content from a game that barely had any in the first place.

They took out content but the DLC was not finished at launch. Read the damn article. In COD, those map packs are done when the game comes out and they hold them to make more money through the year. No one says a word. Destiny has way, way more content than most games at the same price.

The dlc was cut due to some bungee employees leaving, also destiny has very little content and most of the time you just grind the same strikes over and over.
