From my experience, it has to be a hammer headshot to kill a stormcaller in one shot, and two no matter what on a perfectly healthy nightstalker mid bow. but to be fair that isn't hard since that's a mid range throw usually.

It's not my hammer that is broken. It you that is broken. How r u supposed to hammer someone WITHOUT STYLE!!! Add spins! Flips! Even grenades for some flair! Personally I like to add glitter, but rummaging through my pocket throws off my aim.
