From the FPS point of view you would be throwing away your guns, and your game, every year when the next game came out (CoD reference).

Stop comparing destiny to other games, destiny is destiny and no amount of look what this franchise does or that franchise does makes the fact that Bungie is screwing us over right. Destiny is its own game, it's not cod or wow so stop comparing it to them.

That is utterly ignorant. The game borrows from both titles so to make no comparison would be foolish. And don't act like everyone that comes into this forum and talks about how this game is the worst don't reference other games when they do so.

It's a totally invalid analogy, man, sorry. :P And while the game may be RNG, many weapons still require substantial effort for players to even have the [i]chance[/i] to unlock them, whereas CoD will grant every weapon simply over time. You have to beat the Raids, you have to beat PoE, you have to perform well in IB, you have to rank up Faction Rep., and you [i]absolutely[/i] have to EARN (not via RNG) Trials of Orisris gear. RNG or not, gear in Destiny is still very much "earned."

But not necessarily through long grinding. Some people get a lot of shit with very little effort. If you are grinding this game currently for 1 piece of gear you are doing it wrong.

Your point is not valid.. You don't grind 100s of hours to obtain a gun in call of duty. Get real dude

My point is completely valid. No gun in this game requires hundreds of hours of grind. They're all RNG. You are dumb for grinding for any piece of gear as you're probably less likely to get it that way. The only exception would be year 1 exotic bounties and year 2 exotic quests and those take very little grind. I think you need to get real, dude.

Yea. It's a quest but you gotta grind hadium flakes, which are -blam!-ing annoying, then you gotta grind calcium fragments, then a boss, then calcium fragments, then a boss, then grind more hadium flakes
