Think of the pick 5 on news at night where a random number is picked 1 through 100. In Destiny each number would represent 1 reward all different from eachother and each item only represented by one number. That would be an example of rng. That's not what destiny does. One item can have multiple numbers like a crest of alpha lupi would have 20 numbers out of 100 that all would give the same reward if they pop up. You would have a 1 in 5 chance of getting a crest of alpha lupi. Then Destiny picks which items will be given for which missions- like I'd you did a nightfall this week you most likely got a choleric dragon and a ghost and strange coins. They are basically assigning certain rewards which will most likely be received. Does that sound random to you? Ppl talk about rng and really don't understand it stands for random numerical generator. Yes, the numbers are random, but the rewards are far from random. This is equivalent to you watching the pick 5 tonight and out of 100 balls 99 were all the number 3 and 1 ball was a 6- all 5 numbers picked are most likely going to be 33333. Just because that one ball is a 6 you can't get mad because its random right? Its RNG! don't be a chump and demand to be treated better as a customer. Ppl are literally the donkey trying to get the carrot on a stick that Bungie is holding- and all ppl say is, "well that's rng". Ignorance is bliss, I guess. You have to ask the question "Why would they do this? " its to get ppl to play their game more and more. Pretty lame if you ask me. Hey don't get me wrong- as far as the raid and Destiny community I think it's freaking awesome but their reward system is definitely too manipulated and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
