Final edit: This is regarding having a chance of getting no drops from hard mode. A lot of people, including myself, have gotten very frustrated with this to the point where we just don't want to play anymore. PROOF THIS IS NOT A GLITCH AND SOMETHING WHICH IS INTENDED BY BUNGIE: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/169504792/0/0 It's not easy with a LFG team and after you spend a while fighting the boss, you get nothing or just normal mode loot. What's the point of doing it on Hard if you won't get loot anyway? I've seen it all. Vault of Glass normal and hard, Crota's End normal and Hard, along with Prison of Elders. I've been through forever 29 but never complained about the rewards but this time I am as every other encounter gave you something every time. Below is my original post. Don't I just love it when I spend 20 min on a encounter only to get nothing? Last week it was nothing from sisters. This week, it was nothing from Golgoroth and I was the one who had the gaze. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to remove drops completely is a dumbass who deserves a slap to the face. GIVE US GUARANTEED DROPS ON EVERY ENCOUNTER! Just to clarify one thing, I'm not asking for straight 320 drops with perfect rolls. I'm just asking for drops. Now, with the variety of things you can get, you won't be done immediately. You get a drop, then it needs to be 320 and it needs desirable rolls. For those of you saying "It has always been like this", it hasn't. I've been here since week one (Sign of Founders on my Hunter) and I'll tell you why. Before you got shards and / or energies. You could use those to upgrade your initial gear and make it more powerful. You got something out of it if you remembered correctly. Now, since you don't need ascendant materials to upgrade anymore, the equivalent could be seen as weapons or gear. You use high light stuff and upgrade your initial gear and make it more powerful. If you do a normal raid and complete it, then do a hard raid, or just do a hard raid straight then you have the chance of getting nothing which has 310+ light until Oryx. What was the point of doing the previous encounters then if they don't guarantee you items? And it's not like this is infrequent. I didn't get anything from 3/5 encounters last week and 2/5 encounters this week. How is that fair? Also, those of you calling me "entitled", I am entitled. I finished the activity therefore I earned the rewards. If you disagree with that then why not just remove loot completely from every activity? Edit: 250+ replies.   • I think that if you run normal and have 20 fragments left after normal completion you should get guaranteed drops for hard but could get better gear just you have one guaranteed drop over your current light level

  • Agreed. I got next to nothing the entire time I was running normal mode. Things have changed somewhat in Hard Mode, but it should be guaranteed drops on all bosses for Hard Mode for sure.

      The ultimate problem has always been that players have been rewarded unevenly. This was prevalent back during the Vault of Glass and it's especially been prevalent here. Honestly, Crota's End is the only raid with a decent loot system, which is ironic considering that it's the worst as far as fun factor goes (though it's still fun to some degree... just extremely easy, unfortunately, and very broken). I've never done a CE run where I ONLY got shards and energies. I remember this one particular VOG Hard run where, despite not already running it on Normal that week, I literally only got Ascendant materials as a reward while everyone else was swimming in Fatebringers and Mythoclasts. Even the guy who swapped out with someone else at Atheon got a Mythoclast. Meanwhile, I kept getting the only thing that's guaranteed in ANY loot drop, and everyone else did too, on top of actual rewards. I honestly felt like I had wasted my time, and since we were all 29's on Hard mode it was a waste of a LOT of time. I put in the same effort as them and got rewarded less than them. It's not even a matter of "I got a crappy gun and they got a good gun", I didn't get a gun AT ALL. Bungie, just make it so we get SOMETHING. At least with a gun or piece of armor that's weaker than what I have, I have a CHOICE on what to do with it. Moldering Shards (which aren't even on the Hard table)? There's one use, and even those have a small chance to just give you some Moldering Shards. Bungie, fix this shit. One piece of gear per checkpoint (or just make it so that you eventually HAVE to get SOMETHING if you do all checkpoints that week) and NO MOLDERING SHARDS as a reward for Moldering Shards. I think that's fair. TL;DR: Signed.

            • It seems that the raids are designed to allow you to progress relatively easy to mid tear, but difficult to top tier. I will use an example with NORMAL RAID: Back when we were all 290-299, doing the raid would drop gear between 300-310, but most of the time it was 302-307. So a guardian could expect something like this: 0 Completed Normal Raids: 290 Light 1 Completed Normal Raid: 300 Light 2 Completed Normal Raids: 304 Light 3 Completed Normal Raids: 306 Light 4-5 Completed Normal Raids 307 Light 6-7 Completed Normal Raids 308 Light 8-10 Completed Normal Raids 309 Light As you can see, the first 2-3 raids can jump you up to 15 light, but to reach the next 5 light you need like 8-12 more raids. Most people only reached 310 because of exotic engrams/3 of coins. Otherwise, most people would be still grinding normal raid to get to 310 from 307-308. Now that the Hard raid is out I am seeing the following: 0 Completed Hard Raids: 300 Light 1 Completed Hard Raid: 306 Light 2 Completed Hard Raids: 309 Light 3 Completed Hard Raids: 311 Light 4-5 Completed Hard Raids 312 Light 6-7 Completed Hard Raids 313 Light 8-10 Completed Hard Raids 315 Light 10-12 Completed Hard Raids 316 Light As you can see, the first 2-3 raids greatly increase a characters light, but further raids see diminishing returns. The raids above represent my observations as well to that of my friends. Also, I am taking into account infusion. It would be interesting to collect data from people to see the light they are achieving after x number of raids. I am willing to bet their data looks similar. I am also willing to bet Bungie knows about this and deliberately planned it to LENGTHEN the GRIND.

              • I totally agree. I'm starting to see no point in raiding at this point. The raid can take hours out of a persons day and to get nothing, which is what I received on more than one occasion is ridiculous. The loot is already too rng dependent, and now you are telling me that not only do I have to hope to get a good roll when I get something, I also have to hope to get something in the first place. I have literally had times when I get super excited when I see I finally got 1 raid weapon or raid armor piece and proceed to disappointment when I scroll over the item and see that the light is 301 and the roll is absolute garbage. Same thing with trials coming up. Are you telling me that I am going to have to put in the work to get to the lighthouse only to be disappointed with trash perks on the weapons? Bungie is getting way too excited about this rng everything movement.
