My friends who bought halo 5 talked about it last night while we were raiding in Kings Fall. It's okay. Edit: no threat to Destiny.

  • Doesn't matter, all the better games like Fallout 4, Battlefront, NFS and others are a threat to Destiny. Don't forget Destiny is a "Good" game, not a Great one... it's reviews and ratings are not great, they have proven they can't hold their player base when DLC gets stale... So don't expect anything different, in a few weeks people will be gone for another 4 months.

I'm sure I'll enjoy fallout, once. I have a feeling I'll be selling my copy of SW COD though. Then it's back to the multiplayer awesomeness of destiny.

  • Did you just call NFS a good game? That just invalidated your whole argument. NFS hasnt been good since ps2

Nice reply, you basically went off an assumption and tried to invalidate my opinion. I take it you didn't see the new NFS coming out... As that's what I was talking about... I agree, NFS has not been good since NFS MW on the PS2, and before that the two underground games. This new one however, looks like they've finally listened to the fanbase, I was complaining for years about the terrible drifty driving they force people into, and now they've given full car tuning so that if you want to race like a pro, and not drift like a kid, you can. The graphics are better than any game currently out, the car list has finally gone back to tuner culture with RX-7s , Skylines, Supras... Instead of 50 supercars... You should seriously go check the game out, clearly you haven't done any research whatsoever, I can rattle off about 50 games that are better than Destiny, and I've been playing games for 22 years since I first completed megaman at 4 years old on the original NES. You want to talk about invalidating something, you invalidated your opinion as a gamer and as an intellectual with your last statement, putting a huge assumption on the conversation and then rolling with it, that's the sign of true ignorance. Muted.

  • With forza 6 out and about I really can't see any serious racers playing nfs. Nfs is shit. It's always been shit. It will continue to be shit. I agree with everything else you said. I just can't wrap my head around nfs being a desirable racing game for you. Hell even project cars with all its glitches is better than nfs for a true racing game.

  • Project cars isn't great, I have it... It's not bad but it's a sim. At the end of the day it's nice to have a fun racing game with a bit of creativity, not just another track racer... I have Formula 1, Gran Turismo, and PR for track racers with a G27. NFS has never been about that, except for those two disgraceful shift games... NFS Underground, Underground 2 & Most Wanted (original) were not sh*t games... All the previous ratings, and people who actually know what good games are will testify to that. Those games captured an underground car culture of the time, and were the perfect mix between sim and arcade. Also forza is only on xbox remember... So not all the "serious racers" are over there, Infact I'd argue that with GT Academy running for the last 5+ years, and PS4 having double the population of the XB1, there are far more "serious racers" on PSN, than there are Xbox. Just sayin'

  • The serious guys are on iracing. I like forza because it has a clutch. I like my clutch. Well, that and the graphics. Admittedly the car list could be better. Gt6 is hilariously awful with all the ps2 cars being ported over. I've never liked any of the nfs. I don't really care about body kits and giant nonfunctional spoilers.

  • iracing is on PC... Again you are trying to claim that all "serious guys" are only on one platform which just isn't true. You cannot compare NFS with GT, Forza, and other sims... because it's apples & oranges. NFS was about capturing underground car culture, and interesting story (fiction), massive cosmetic tuning, and most of all fun. I'm a huge motorsport fan, particularly F1, but I can enjoy all of it, so I can get on any sim racer and enjoy myself, but sims become frustrating after a while because if you don't have a racing wheel, you won't win. I used to have a G27 and it was great, but it took up so much room i just wasn't worth it for one genre of game. Without a wheel on console you have no chance of keeping up with the wheel users. NFS was a great franchise in the beginning, but it went downhill quite a lot because of the whole "forcing people to drift" thing. The new one is going to change that, and seen as Project cars gets boring very quickly, and Forza is only on Xbox, I think there will be a lot of people on the new NFS. "|I don't care about bodykits and non-functional spoilers" I'm pretty sure the spoilers in the old NFS Underground series added to the overall grip package on he car. Either way you sound like a bit of a snob, someone that is keen to compare two different racing cultures as though they're the same and then throw nothing but negativity on it.

  • Not true at all. I can lay down top 50 lap times with a controller all day long. And yes, the serious guys are on pc. That's always how it's been. So previous nfs games made nonfunctional spoilers functional? That's just awful.

  • GT Academy takes people from Playstation, not PC, not Xbox... So they're no serious racers? Because they don't own a PC? Do you realise that there are competitive leagues for racing games on all consoles? With many people using wheels? And yes, it is true, certain games (Mainly sims) give wheel users a BIG advantage due to the nature of throttle feathering and the amount of increments when it comes to cornering on a wheel. It allows them to take off all assists and drive flat out with very little risk Vs a controller, not to mention that manual gears are 100x easier on a wheel. There's a reason all the top tier racers in gamers are doing so on wheels, and not controllers... Because controllers carry an inherent disadvantage, so i suggest you retract that top 50 comment, because it's absolutely bogus, and also carries no credibility right now. As for the final comment, about spoilers.. I believe thats the case, that spoilers did contribute to a cars overall grip level. However, my point is this, the fact you're even asking me that, shows that you haven't done any research, yet you stand here insulting a franchise, based off what? Nothing. Why would it be awful for NFS to have some realistic elements to their games? The franchise has sold over 150million units... It's not like it's some terrible franchise. I will play all genres of games, and you'll never catch me slating a game without doing the research, so to be honest, are you even a gamer? Or just a wannabe and a snob? The way you have tried to talk sh*t about Need for Speed is embarrassing, showing that you know little about it, and think that the only good racing games are sim racers. Sim racers are great, I love them, but they get boring, real quick especially when the Wheel crowd start taking over. Arcade racers are usually far more fun, because they don't require me to have a big wheel in the house like some kind of dlckhead that doesn't know how to prioritise his finances.

  • Gt academy is an advertisement. Yes, the serious guys are on pc. It's not like I loathe arcade racers. Burnout paradise was amazing. Nfs is a steaming pile of ea. I'm so sorry I don't remember specific details from every nfs ever made. That obviously makes my argument invalid as I'm an uniformed snob.

  • Agreed, burnout paradise was a great game. GT Academy is not an advertisement, lol... It's a racing academy. You realised that the top racers from Gran Turismo get brought through into GT Academy... That's right, Playstation... Not PC. The top racers are not "All on PC", that has never been the case, and there's not an ounce of truth to that, you only have to go on Racedepartment to see that there are racing leagues for the competitive guys across all systems, and one console doesn't dominate the others. I never asked you to remember things from the entire franchise, but I'd expect you to know about the best 3 games in the franchise, seen as you wanted to slate it so much. Need for speed Underground, Underground 2 & Most wanted (the original one) are what we are talking about... People who know the NFS franchise discount everything after Carbon. You sit here slating NFS as a franchise, but Gran Turismo has not been great since GT 3 A-Spec, Forza has only lately become a great game, the earlier versions were terrible. Project cars is extremely basic, & I wouldn't even consider it a real simulation, more of a noobs sim racer, iRacing is the same old boring nonsense, just like rfactor and the others. If I wanted to do serious racing I'd get in the car and drive to Oulton park. NFS used to be amazing, because not only was the racing good enough, but there was a lot of freedom on the cars, and it was fun. That's what video games should be... Fun...

  • I don't even know what we're arguing about anymore. Will this go on until I admit nfs is generally speaking a good franchise? That's not going to happen. I agree project cars isn't very good. That's why I bought forza. Project cars is still more fun for me than any nfs game though. Video games are supposed to be fun but everyone has a different definition of fun. In a racing game I want awesome graphics, realistic physics, in depth tuning, and a large car list. I wouldn't pick up burnout paradise today as my tastes have changed. Don't you dare bash forza 4 by the way I have 2000 hours into that game haha.
