So sick of abusive Raid Teams...

You guys know the ones. The teams that are always elitists, that get pissed off every time you die, the ones who berate you for playing a Warlock, and especially those who implement a strategy completely different than what you're used to and they expect you to be able to get it down first try. Don't tell me I'm the only one that's been there? I play hardcore, don't get me wrong, but when it gets to the point where name-calling and yelling and screaming happens, that's not motivation. That's just downright abuse. Edit: It sucks to know so many people can relate to this bullshit, but good to know there are others out there who are just as sick of it as I am. :)

  • Only thing I experience is Douche who harass/insult my disability just because they claim I'm not "communicating". I mean damn do you really need communication if you stay in the center when atheon can f-ing shoot you?

    • I was doing the raid earlier and after I detonated my blight I got back in the aura but one of the guys was going to be late to get in and die from the explosion so the relic holder moved it backwards to save him and I died. Then it went to hell and they couldn't DPS the ogres and ended up wiping during the teleport phase. Then I hear, "We would have been fine if that Wapa guy didn't die." Ok we would have been fine if we actually got a callout that the aura was moving so I knew to move with it.

When you have to tell the same guy 7 times that if he has the Unstable Light debuff he has to get out the pit or he'll kill everyone, can you blame people for getting pissed off? It's simple mechanics that literally take 1 attempt to master. I'm not being an elitist but it's frustrating as hell!

        • Yep, after reading a lot of this, I've made a decision to never even try a raid. It would be way too stressful for me; I hate getting yelled at and I know that I will suck and suck some more for a while. Not blaming this decision on anyone, it's my issue, but I wish it wasn't like that.

They still wait on me to do the freaking jumping puzzles and they dont yell at me when I die as the ghost : / I love these HAM University and Lupis Mortalis guys!

            • One of the best ways i've found to get over the fear of failing at raids is research and a patient group that wants everyone to learn and be ok with being terrible for a bit. Sounds like a fantasy, no? I myself was always a quiet raider doing basic things that made it easier to put the pressure off. Im referring to a long gaming history. Early on i was shy and not confident about taking on any responsibility. After being asked/told to do something that if i failed at...we would all pay for, i of coarse choked and found myself entirely turned off of raiding for a while. Years later destiny rolls out and for the first time i found that volunteering for harder tasks as i learned about them built up my understanding and confidence... Each jump in the current jumping puzzles was a trial and failure at some point or another. Laugh it off and have fun. Thats the group you want. We are all capable of great things when we work together. Keep searching for those that share your goals Guardian, it will pay off.

            • It's the people that Raid with their actual friends that's the problem. Whenever I join groups where nobody knows each other it's fine, there's more chillness and understanding among us all. Whenever I've joined groups of 3-4 in a lobby and they know each other, I assess their attitude during the first sections, because I know as we get further in people tend to be mouthy pricks. I've been with groups where I've been told to change my loadouts even though it's perfectly fine and I've done the Raid before no problem with the same loadouts. In fact, I have never used these loadouts people keep asking for an I do fine.

            • Easy, simplistic, straight forward. 1) TOTEMS: 3 Dedicated guardians for totems, 1 being where oryx slams and the relic runner first jumps up, 2 being the next totem (in counter clock wise order), 3 being the last totem that you have to jump on. The order will never change but the location will so it is up to the 3 dedicated totem guardians to know where to go in relation to where oryx is slamming. when they are on the totems they are NOT to shoot Orges AT ALL, simply have them SIT DOWN. Once the relic runner has the relic, all three totem guardians JUMP directly up to the daughters platform and prepare to stagger Oryx. Once Oryx is staggered, they help killing the Ogres. Once all ogres are dead they go to the "Designated Areas" which I'll discuss after. Rinse and Repeat. 2) RELIC RUNNER: The runner has one job, STAY ALIVE. He becomes torn, jumps, and gets the relic. Once he gets the relic, he goes and slams the vessel. Once that is completed he goes up to the Daughters platforms where the rest of the team will be. Once Oryx is staggered the relic runner will stay up on the daughters platform while ogres are killed. Once ogres are killed, the relic runner jumps down in between the daughters platforms and continues to put damage on ORYX. Rinse and repeat until complete. 3) OGRE DUTY: 2 Guardians (Best with two titans, and touch of malice if they have it but this is NOT necessary,... just as long as they can put enough damage onto the ogres) will be DEDICATED to be on the daughters platforms. While the ogres are spawning in, their only job is to damage all 4 ogres down to about 1/4 health. Once this is completed they will prepare to stagger Oryx. Once Oryx is staggered, the two titans will help kill ogres and then go to "Designated areas". Rinse and repeat. 4) Running portion: Have "Designated areas" for all guardians for where they are going to run. Best strategy is to have two up on Daughters platforms and then the four totems. 5) Teleport portion: Everyone crowds the front and kills knights right away and clears adds. When teleported inside, shoot and kill the Echo. Rinse and repeat. 6) Designated areas: Assign Dedicated areas for where people are going to run around during the running portion. Those guardians that will be running around totems will be also then be in charge of detonating the bomb closest to their assigned totem. Relic runner should always be assigned to run up on daughters because the relic runner will never run towards a bomb. One of the Ogre duty guardians will be in charge of watching and counting down when to detonate, however once s/he starts counting down, he should drop down in the Aura with the relic runner and continue to damage Oryx. If anyone wants to, please feel free to comment below a better strategy and I will be sure to ignore you :) Be sure to bump so that others who are not familiar with this strategy can be made aware.

              • Today I got kicked out of a raid team for the first time. I was not even doing bad, everyone would do something wrong at some point... Im at over 400 raid completions and know how to teamwork, sometimes peoples attitudes get you annoyed and the game isnt about having fun at this point. When in LFG, ask for chill crews, you'll get done quicker than the looking for 315+ kids.

              • Don't worry about the elitist scrubs on destiny lfg, they're a bunch of idiots anyway You can tell they know what they're talking about when they need 300+ light people with touch of malice just to do vog.... Year 1 experienced players won't do that to you find a group of them

I tell everybody "you suck" in a funny voice (kind of Butthead'ish) when they die. When I die I say "I suck" in the same voice. I think it kind of gets us to work harder but adds some levity & comedic lightness to it. Edit: I don't do this every time there's a death, that would be shitty.

                  • I was playing with random squad yesterday morning. I needed 3 fragments to complete the malice quest. Got all three and once we beat sisters, everyone was kicked because we were considered "too shitty to beat oryx". I've never laughed so hard afterwards. Others would have been pissed but I thought it was hilarious.

                    • Everyone screws up now and then but when someone is consistently the first person to die I have to question them on what they're doing wrong. In a raid with no revives you're hurting your whole team when you die.
