Before it only made two primary weapons viable, Fatebringer and Vision of Confluence. People that didn't manage to get a Fatebringer used Fang of Ir Yut. Now, every single one of the Cocoon weapons is viable in the raid and outside of it as long as you take advantage of Cocoon. We need more abilities like Cocoon to make things viable rather than just a flat elemental damage perk on there. It was stupid, made weapons with cool perks like Cocoon completely useless, you had to use that weapon just because of the Elemental damage the perks on the gun were a side bonus but the main reason to use that gun was the elemental bonus, and that shouldn't happen. And remember Vision of Confluence and Fatebringer were the weapons of the first raid. So they remained the best weapons for a solid year which is also retarded, they overpowered the weapons by giving them the best perks and slapped elemental damage on them. They didn't know what they were doing and they learned. It was a necessary change that needed to happen to stop people from using one or two weapons out of many. "Elemental Crystals" wouldn't work either, because they weren't just putting other primaries to shame. They were making it so that secondary and heavy were only used on bosses. You could just blaze through every activity with just your 2-3 primary weapons, it's stupid. Exotics are the reason we should feel "Crazy powerful" not legendary weapons.

  • They should but Bungie even said exotics should not be gamechangers. I Understand what they mean about other weapons but I can't shake the feeling of going back instead of forward. I will not do the hard raid now. R.I.P. FB

  • but there is a damage cap is this game so being a 320 only has effect in the hard mode raid so again you are not making much sense, is there something im missing with your point? he is trying to explain why elemental primaries are the endgame reward that makes this game! but he understands bungie dose not wanted just one gun being used by everyone so why is his suggestion of dropping an item that lest us choose our gun to upgrade to elemental damage is not being good one?

  • I explained why that is a problem, read my whole post before responding. Cool perks like Cocoon that are unique should be the raid perks, not a flat elemental burn.

  • you argument is fatebringer was to good with no real reason why it has anything to do with elemental damage. then you move on to say that having a elemental primary means you only use your heavy on bosses but that's the way it should be. the extra lil bit we get from elemental damage was just the perfect amount to not break the game but still be a great reward. you and no way bring anything to this argument but fatebringer was to good and you make no sense because if the OP gets his way there would be tons of great options not just the one.

  • It would make heavies and secondaries only good on bosses. You never had to switch weapons except for primary. No one used anything other than Fatebringer, Vision or Fang for non boss enemies.
