Deathsingers on hard can only drop class items as a hard mode drop. You can get one to drop if normal was already completed, it's just a very low chance.
Even if you didn't do normal mode, the Deathsingers would drop 1 normal mode drop and one hard mode, so you didn't lose any chances for drops, just bad rng.
