Let me break it down for you. The only elemental weapon you used was probably VoC and fatebringer. The raid weapons from vog, kinda spoiled us. Bungie wants to take a step away from that and let other weapons stay useful.

Word, vision, oversoul. Usually only on a burn nightfall too.

-
Thats the idea, no weapon is the got to must have weapon
-
end game weapons should be above average but who am i to say.
-
They have 3 perks, and they have an exclusive perk, i say thats pretty different and very good if used right but they arent insanely different that it makes them the only viable weapons
-
They have a bonus damage to taken perk (always been on every raid weapon ever just different enemies) then a perk that works decisively better on certain guns like MGs but is all but worthless on anything with a decent reload speed. And then a RNG perk that 9 times out of 10 is utter garbage. So 2 perks are almost always useless and the third a lot of the time is also
-
That "shitty" cocoon perk can give you a loadout where you dont have to reload
-
Which is only useful with MG and Shotgun because of the slow reload speeds. Anything else is generally pretty snappy.
-
And that is why i cleared hard mode and you did not
-
Also, because it dropped a day ago, and I have a thing called a job. But for real, cocoon is pretty useless
-
And i have a life too, called school, caccoon is a great perk end of story

Fang all the way
-
This is what I call variety. Some people used the Fang because they liked it more than Fatebringer. That's more variety than I'm seeing being used now
-
I'm using more guns depending on the mission and mood. Before all I used was fb, fang sometimes, word, and abyss defiant. I do use handcannons less though. I don't really have a go to weapon anymore
