This just in... all of the weapons suck and there are no elements on primaries... wait, that's not just in. it's pretty much par for the course for all of year two. good job on failing to give us anything compelling or rewarding, bungie! you just keep on being afraid of weapons that are actually fun to use, because everyone's obviously a big fan...

This just in, A 10 year old crying on the forums, never heard that before...
-
ad hominem is not exactly a counter-proposal... you wanna tell me WHY I'm wrong?
-
That statement told you YOU were wrong because you were complaining!
-
I'm pretty sure you have to attach a statement to a person if you want to use the word "wrong" (unless you're just calling me messed up, which is probably true!)... regardless, that wasn't what I was asking you... so maybe you didn't like my tone (not sure I could support it myself as a normal mode of discourse if you pushed me to defend it, but I was/am perturbed and was following what are, perhaps, flawed internet norms of expression). my intention was, in addition to informing others that there are not, I believe, any worthwhile weapons to strive for in the new raid, to express disapproval and frustration at this choice on the part of bungie... what about this implicit criticism in my "whining"? is it, or is it not, disappointing, and why?

Edited by Shadow Artiste: 10/23/2015 10:59:45 PMI'm happy there's no elemental primaries because it turns PvE into a 3 gun meta. If primaries can be made elemental if should be a system which allows us to imbue any primary of our choice with an elemental damage.
-
that's an interesting idea... what would be involved in this process (or rather, I suppose, how MUCH would be involved) as you envision it?
-
Fatebringer and vision have served their time...Now we can actually have a little variety
-
wouldn't having a whole slew of new weapons with elemental damage also serve the purpose of adding variety? they don't have to have the same insane perks as those examples... just elemental damage.
-
A variety with elemental damage...
-
-
So are you saying my Zhalo is a mistake?
-
well right now it's unique, and that's my beef... but I was specifically referring to new raid weapons (it wasn't totally off-topic)
-
They learned with Vision of Confluence and the Crota'sEnd Handcannon and its not a good idea to give elemental primarys becuase they end up being really good xD (i remember seeing that someone from bungie said Vision and the Crota HandCannon were a mistake)
-
that always seems kind of silly to me, saying that a weapon is "too good"... seems like it should just set the bar for other guns, rather than being a point to retreat from. I can see how fatebringer was kind of obnoxiously effective in PvE, but that's not because of the elemental damage as much as from the perk tree...
-
Why? They weren't the only two primary elementals. Why would only those two guns be a mistake but the rest not?
-
i dunno i guess because they were used the most
-
They weren't though. Voc yes, word no. Voc and fb were used most. Not because of their burn but because of the perks. Burn just made them silly though.
-
Crota handcannon? No. Vault handcannon? Yes.
-
Word of crota was good. I used it all the way until fatebringer could be bumped up.
-
But it was no replacement
-
Yea give us elemental legendary primaries so those are the only guns people use, exotic primaries would become obsolete again. No thanks.
-
this seems like a valid concern, especially in PvE... but really, it just seems like an argument for adding elements to exotic primaries.
-
Im glad they did away with elemental primaries?

*sigh* the unfortunate thing about the internet is that one has to use hyperbole and an incendiary tone (in short, to "whine") to get a conversation going; it's not ideal, but it's the way of the medium. have anything to offer other than the ad hominem insult?
