Isn't there an order to kill them in ie red guy last so you get the maulers like I did? Same thing on dust palace with flayer cloaks

Nope I always kill the red dude first. I've had the gauntlets drop twice

Flayer cloaks drop their own element, so kill the one you want last. For the maulers, however, this is not true. Both brothers will drop them.
