82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

1 ReplyHonestly my best success with these strike exclusives is running the heroic playlist. I have all but the arc mantle, sabre warlock helmet, and taniks cloak. I've gotten 5 tread upon stars, 4 darkblade helms, 2 darkblades fusion rifles, 2 brothers gauntlets, and I think that's it on my duplicates. If the vanguard buff [i]doesn't[/i] affect those drop rates then I must be pretty lucky

Was Hunting for Void Flayer Mantle whilst doing my two nightfalls. My friend gets 2 from 2 nightfalls in a row.

Got it on the 3rd or 4th time it came up on heroic on my hunter

Wait till it's the nightfall and you should get them easily, ran nightfall 5 times this week and got the 2 flayed cloaks I was missing, they increased strike specific loot for nightfalls

Took me about 50 runs to get Imago Loop. Didn't get the "Fatebringer" roll of Outlaw + Firefly so I'll keep running it.

I did it on my hunter and got them and deleted them bc I don't have Titan

The only strike specific loot I've ever gotten is the void flayer's mantle. Sharded it quick before it could give me more aids cause that thing looks horrible.

I'm saddened cause the Warlock gets amazing looking gauntlets, only from Echo Chamber.

6 RepliesIf you're lucky shield brothers will come up as nightfall. I believe they may be more likely to drop the higher level the strike. Me and two other friends got the void flayer mantle just today.

I hate to see a post like this. I got mine on first try. I'm not saying that to brag. I wish I could give you mine. I hope that you get them on the next try. I got mine during weekly heroic strike playlist. I'm sure you've tried that tho. Good luck.

I've gotten them 3 times but other strike gear I want like imago loop and the warlock helm from saber 2 I can't get to drop!! I guess it's just rng!

Just run 36 strikes and GET THE STREAK active don't run heroics because they are far more prone to people dropping out. 36s are just fine that is where all of mine have come from. And like many others I have 5 strike exclusive items and they have all came from using a different character than the item obtained. All my Warlock and titan stuff came from using a Hunter. Do not have but 1 thing for my Hunter and that was obtained by using my titan.

1 ReplyRun heroics and build up your streak. Try it with multiple characters... I seem to get a lot of opposites drops (i.e. my warlock getting Hunter and Titan gear).

I got them my first strike with my hunter as well. They look ok, but there are other gauntlets I prefer. That being said, RNG is hit and miss with everything. It sucks as the Vex Mythoclast took me months to get, and that's at the end of a raid that you can only get rewards 1 time per week, per character. So it became my one obsession for months, yet the Gally was my first exotic drop in the game.

I legit got them on my second run of the strike. Plan on infusing them into my gauntlet as they dropped at 296 :D
