82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

I tend to get my titan exclusive armor when running my hunter. It's weird.

I've gotten them on my hunter twice, just randomly not trying. It happens, they drop, sorry about your luck though man.

I got them on my titan after my first heroic strike.

Have never farmed for them. So far 2 gauntlets and 2 Scout rifles. One scout was 300. I feel lucky (both are in my titan)

I've gotten the Darkblade helm after running it around 30 times in total. Mau'ual's Maulers after 20 times. The undying mind mark after running it around 10 times. The psion cloak (arc) after 5 nightfalls. I've had the Treads upon Stars three times

This does not mean that I did an individual strike over and over every time; most of the time I did the heroic playlist and did around 10-15 strikes total. Here is a list of my rewards and roughly around when I got them. - Mark of the Undying Mind: got after 1 day of grinding. I was doing the legacy playlist. - Grasp of Malok: I have gotten 5 of them throughout a total of 2 weeks. All of them I got doing the farming glitch with Omnigul and shadowshot. Only 2 of them were worth keeping. - Omnigul Bond: side affect of grinding for the grasp. Got 3 of them. - Treads Upon Stars: got it last monday from Cerberus Vae III. I was doing the heroic playlist. Bad roll, but still a good weapon. - Mau'uals Maulers: just got them yesterday doing the heroic playlist. We killed Tlu'urn (the blue guy) last. What I've learned from the grind: - every playlist has the same chance of dropping an exclusive legendary, including the basic strikes themselves. - 3 of coins does not increase the chance of these dropping (people have seriously said it does, lol) - The buff only increases the chance of a legendary engram dropping, NOT the exclusive gear. I think it's also worth mentioning that I had already received a lot of the exclusive armor pieces before doing this grind, but that was during the first 2 weeks of TTK when I didn't even know they existed. These include the Darkblade helm, Devouring Maw, Solar flayer mantle, and Cloak of Taniks.

I got them using my Hunter (we'll call him Harry), after trying time and time again with my Titan (let's call him Theodore) Harry, the Hunter, landed at the tower after his strike against the Bond brothers (Jeff and Carl) Harry exited his ship and made his way toward his brother in arms, Theodore. As Harry approached Theodore, he noticed that his eyes had dropped down and had locked on to what he was holding in his hands (no not what most of you are thinking, but I know how it sounds). After a, very non-sexual bro hug, between the two warriors, Harry handed the Mauler gauntlets to Theodore "I took these from Jeff after defeating him and his brother. I know how hard you were trying to get them". As Theodore held them in his hands looking at them " thanks brother, I really appreciate this. But did you have to leave his arms in there?" "Hey man, when I pop that blade dancer and someone is opposing me, I am not responsible how they end up looking afterwards". "Besides they didn't drop for me either so I forced the issue and made them drop"

Got them on my second run through of the strike on heroic.

I want the gauntlets from shield Bros and the helmet for the hive guy on the dread. But rngsus just doesn't love me.

2 RepliesWas playing on my hunter (main) with my Titan friend on that strike. I seen a purple and my friend said if it were the strike gauntlets he'd be madder than hell. I ended up getting 292 with increased melee speed and scout riffle reloader
