The Cabal ship on the dreadnaught is so depressing

There is something about the atmosphere of the Cabal shipwreck on the Dreadnought that I find horribly depressing whenever I go inside or even have to pass by. I just find the struggling Cabal hold-outs, fighting their lonely, desperate rear-guard action against this overwhelming force of alien Hive, sad. I felt bad that I had to run through their ship killing their retreating troops as they were being overrun by the Taken anyway. It felt like being a bully, piling on to a helpless, defenseless child in the school yard. It was especially hard for me to see some of the major Colossus in those missions where you go into the ship, trying to keep the shit together with the swarming Taken after we've already killed all the Cabal leadership that led the attack on the Dreadnought. I felt more emotion from playing that mission than anything else in this entire game. I've always found the Cabal to be the most interesting enemy. The Hive and Fallen are just animals, and the Vex are clockwork machines with no souls. Why must we kill them still? I also don't buy the reason we had to kill the Shield Brothers in that strike, that is BS, we didn't lift a finger when the Awoken tried to blow up the Dreadnought earlier, but we try to stop the Cabal from doing so? I don't buy it. I'd wear a shield and stand next to my brother Siege Dancers, Sand Eaters and Sky Burners any day.

The Fallen are exactly that, fallen. They were once like us, in a Golden age. Lost due to the Darkness. Now they serve it, not out of want, but out of need and are, in a way, not really serving it at all. The Vex are, machines, they serve the Vex and only the Vex. Hive are directly allied with the Darkness, the only enemy we face, directly allied with them anyway. Cabal are nothing more than a military on the run. Blowing the Dreadnoughts core, would destroy the entirety of the outer Sol system and take the Reef (Our new found ally) with it. Why didn't we try to stop the Awoken? Simple, destroying the core would lead to a bigger explosion Destroying the outer parts of the Dreadnought, like they did with the Tomb Ships etc. Would lead to the collapse of the Dreadnought, it wouldn't destroy the Core until it fell out of our system. In other words, it was a hell of a lot safer. Destroying it from the outside than the inside. The Cabal are desperate, they do not care what they do, as long as The Taken King falls, because if he falls, they get to go home. I don't understand the point of fighting against them, fighting with them, would've been a lot more beneficial and helped both sides tremendously. I would have rather seen "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" In the more traditional sense, rather than, kill them, take their stuff, get it over with. However, this isn't the time for feeling sorry for your enemies, this is the time for war. The Cabal are our enemies and they will hunt you down and drain your light, just like any Hive or Vex would. We are fighting for our lives Guardian, our species faces extinction that could happen in the blink of an eye. Soon the Emperor himself will be knocking on our front door. Before we know it, the very Darkness will rise against us But it will not be our end it will be his. We will not fall, we will not falter and we will not be abandoned. Do not allow your fear of the Dark to persuade you. Do not falter when the light may forsake you. Look to your allies, your trusted comrades and have that brotherhood carry you to victory And when we return to the Tower victorious, the mantle of paragon will be placed upon us. Not out of pride or arrogance, but out of the lives we have safe guarded. To those who serve the Darkness, we are nothing more than a morsel, a simple meal, for our light is the sweetest nectar they can taste. Millions have died to the Darkness and its minions for the idea that some day we will be free to live, free to prosper. Stay safe Guardian, the light is always with you
Lets see how many people get that speech
