I can't imagine who these people are that have too many parts. Maybe before TTK when many people had all the best weapons and didn't do much upgrading anymore. But now, I think nearly everyone has to be having issues. I don't hold all that many weapons, but I'm always struggling to get more parts.

  • I had 2,200 before TTK, I have around 1,300 now.... you must be smart with your parts don't use them on things you don't plan on keeping. until I hit 40 I didn't upgrade a single gun (as I never intended to keep anything under 40)

  • You just said you used 900 parts that you had saved up before TTK. Well I did not have 2200 before TTK. I might have had about 50. So that leaves me around -850. Even if I'm smart with the parts that's a big spread.

Are you seriously KIDDING? I can't imagine who these people are who DON'T have thousands of weapon parts. What tha eff are you people doing with weapon parts? I upgrade EVERY legendary gun I get, if it has respectable perks. Why would you waste weapon parts to upgrade a weapon if it has crappy perks? You won't be using it so why waste the time and effort? If it doesn't have good perk rolls it gets used for infusion, or scrapped. I run my 3 characters thru raid every week, do my nightfalls, do my daily bounties, do some weekly Court of Oryx, and run a few heroic strikes weekly. How are you guys NOT turning in like 20 to 30 blue engrams PER DAY? How are you not then having a TON of blues dropping around 265-295? Each of those is worthless as an infusion tool, so it should be getting scrapped....for weapon parts. Seriously I have about 500 weapon parts on each of my 3 characters, and I've upgraded hundreds of legendary weapons all the way to max. How are you freaking people not overflowing with weapon parts? Tha hell is that even possible? I've upgraded so many guns since Taken King launched. Christ people go run court of oryx for half an hour and you should have 15 to 20 engrams to turn in, most of which will be unusable so will thus get scrapped for weapon parts and armor materials.

  • I have to be honest, your lack of paragraphs means I only read the first couple of lines. I don't like walls of text. If you want people to read your thoughts, organize them properly. But for those of us who didn't have thousands before TTK due to saving them up and having nothing to use them on, the struggle is real. I most likely don't play anywhere near as much as you, and never got to a point in the game where I never had a use for the parts. So I never built up a big stash. I do try to be smart with how I use them. I don't just dump them on any old weapon. But the inflow to outflow ratio for an average player is negative. OK, so I did read one more line, the last one about the court of Oryx. Yes, that is a good idea, and I've gotten a lot of engrams from there too. But your suggestion is basically to grind them out at the court. The whole concept of this entire thread is that grinding them shouldn't be necessary.

  • I'm one of those people, I guess. Each character has over 1000 weapon parts. I don't foresee myself using them up any time soon.
