Honestly their trying to stall the game to make it last longer and the grind real. It sucks but thus while dlc has shown that. Time gated exotics, needing mats that help progression. I remember the biggest thing people said after dark below and house of wolves was they did everything blah blah blah. So bungie said fine we are going to force drag it out. Also it's a ploy to drop new stuff during key releases of other games. It sucks. But since it's the only game I really play I have grown to stop caring because I honestly have enough mats anyways.
