"...Some players use a LOT of Parts, whereas others use almost none..."

This is not a good enough reason to reduce the number of parts we get. It's like reducing worldwide food production because a few have too much food, while some are starving. Stupid.
further adjustments may be in order?
This is not a matter of if adjustments are in order, it is a matter of adjustments are needed. No one thought they had too many parts and wanted to have less. Bump until Bungie clearly get the message. Edit: We're trending, gw people. Keep up the bumping. Make your own post on the issue. Whatever we have to do to make sure that every time a Bungie employee checks the forums, the first thing they lay their eyes on is a "weapons parts issue" post.

    • There is no good reason they reduced the weapon part drops. A better solution is another dump for them, such as turning in weapon parts to the gunsmith for reputation. It's just another pitiful way to make us grind more.

    • They definitely need to do something about weapons parts I ration my infusions because of it so that way I'll never run out.

      • I don't follow Bungie's logic either and think it's a completely unnecessary move. I have rerolled lots of weapons after HoW and I have traded a couple of thousand parts for dead orbit reputation. I still have close to 3000 parts left, but this is only because I have played more than 2500 hours (2 deleted hunters for those who like fact-checking) and in those hours I have accumulated and dismantled a lot of weapons. However, most people don't have as much time to play Destiny as me and they are running short on weapon parts for no reason at all. Since launchday, weapon parts have never been a rare commodity, so why the hell would you change this out of the blue? It's not like that I have an advantage over other because I have more weapon parts....

      • The only people not using parts are the people not playing the game.

        • So those who didn't use many parts are unaffected while those who use a lot of parts essentially are punished? Bungie logic.

        • Day 1 player and after all the ups and downs we've dealt with in the past 13 months......grinding for nonsense weapon parts will be the straw that broke me.

        • Yes. Need option to buy/trade for weapon parts from Gunsmith. Ridiculous that this is not already available. Ratio of weapon/armor engrams is skewed also, need more weapons. Seems like weapon engrams turn into motes of light more often than armor engrams do. Number of weapon parts from dismantling should be increased. How are we supposed to experiment with whether we like the perk combos on different weapons when we don't even have the weapon parts to unlock them and see how they handle? Also, weapons and armor should drop closer to our light level. Shouldn't have to infuse things 4 times just to get an item over 300 when all 3 of your characters are already at or above 305.

          • I'm ok I have 800 weapon parts on my Titan. But I'm gonna try to grind to 2000 so that I don't have to worry about loosing parts.

          • While I do not agree with the drop of how many you get. I have not been hit by it really, if I get low I just do some strikes. I am almost guaranteed enough to level any weapon after 3 to 4 strikes with how many blues you get.

          • I was so excited to get No Time To Explain after killing the Groundskeeper today. I maxed it out with a telemetry & motes, go to fill in my upgrade nodes, and guess what... I had 3 weapon parts. 3.

Some use almost none, so let's aline with those that use almost none, who likely don't play much or get one set of armor and weapons and never change them up. Likely also the same who are always being revived continually during any activity including patrol and who complain about everything that's "unfair" needing a nerf.

So much weapons to infuse and upgrade (esp to get over 300+) So little weapon parts. I'd like to play more crucible, however the ratio from zero to none weapon drops in the end does not cut it.

          • "...Some players use a LOT of Parts, whereas others use almost none..." So "some" players get guns as strike, raid or faction rewards or engram drops that already have the perks maxed and others don't so these players don't need weapon parts? Really? Or is it that they don't bother to upgrade their weapons' perks? Even if they're using parts they had leftover from their other characters they're still using them. Hello? I saw that line in the news and I almost had an aneurysm. If you get a gun you really like that's in the mid 270's for example and you want to level it up, figuring on 2 infusions and then maxing all the perks you could wind up needing as many as 35 weapons parts. For just one gun. Now I don't expect to have every gun leveled up completely but we can carry 27 and have 72 more in our vaults. The ratio I'm seeing for armor vs. weapon engram drops is 4, even 5 to 1. And you have to keep the highest to use for infusions on the lower, so no parts to level up perks. Do the math. Deej/Cosmo, I rarely if ever come on the forums and frag or even insult you guys like so many others do but that was the most CLUELESS effing thing I've seen yet as an excuse for yet ANOTHER epic fail by the propeller head data miners in the weapons/rewards departments. It's incredibly aggravating petty shit like this and the pathetic strike and especially nightfall rewards that makes people crazy and furious, especially in a game that demands endless hours of grinding to equip and level up as many as 3 characters and be competitive in either PvE or PvP. Just stop it.
