"...Some players use a LOT of Parts, whereas others use almost none..."

This is not a good enough reason to reduce the number of parts we get. It's like reducing worldwide food production because a few have too much food, while some are starving. Stupid.
further adjustments may be in order?
This is not a matter of if adjustments are in order, it is a matter of adjustments are needed. No one thought they had too many parts and wanted to have less. Bump until Bungie clearly get the message. Edit: We're trending, gw people. Keep up the bumping. Make your own post on the issue. Whatever we have to do to make sure that every time a Bungie employee checks the forums, the first thing they lay their eyes on is a "weapons parts issue" post.

  • A lot of what Bungie says in it's public statements don't make much sense to me. And often what they say doesn't end up being true. I'm not saying that they are lying. I just mean, for example, they said, and i'm paraphrasing, "they'll check the guns you have so you don't get duplicate drops." Well in my experience the vast majority of my exotics and legendary drops are duplicates. I've gotten 3 warlock arms, don't have a warlock by the way. But three crest of alpha lupis, 5 choleric dragons,4 the next big things, for jinkokubo whatever it's called. got like three vestments. i bought a suros, it dropped suros. i dropped TLW in two exotic engrams when i had it equipped. things just don't turn out to be true. And this isn't new. Parts were a problem in HOW that went ignored.

Patch 2.0.2 The One About Weapon Parts Added an option to the Speaker to exchange Shards for Weapon parts. ---- 1 Shard and 50 glimmer will net you 10 Weapon Parts ---- 1 Shard and 50 glimmer will net you 10 Weapon Parts Added an option for the Gunsmith to exchange Armor Parts for Weapon parts ---- 10 Armor Parts and 50 glimmer will net you 5 Weapon Parts Added an option for the Gunsmith to exchange Weapon parts for Armor Parts ---- 10 Weapon Parts and 50 glimmer will net you 5 Armor parts -blam!- this noise. Fix will take 15 minutes. Easy peasy.

My idea for weapon parts is reduce the cost for infusion. 10 seems too high since we only get one per breaking down a gun so make it 5. Also allow us to buy like a pack of like 10 (same with armor materials) or something from a vendor for about 100 or 500 glimmer. Not much to spend that on. Than increase the amount you need to increase up to about 100 since they'll be easier to get. This way no one is in a drought and people with too much have a way to get rid of a lot in a short time.

Weapon part are my bottleneck right now. Even when I try to hunt engrams for parts I am lucky if I get enough to unlock a couple nodes after an hour of farming. How about reducing the required amount to unlock nodes? Instead of 5 or 10 how about 1 or 2? Edited to add: Or how about increasing all old raid and PoE weapon and armor drops (keep that shit relevant) by 500% which can be dismantled and converted to motes via the speaker. Also have the gunsmith sell weapon parts. 5 motes for 20 parts.

        • Bump. And drop the price on planetary mats while you're at it. 10 marks for 20 materials is a ripoff.

          • With this logic they should take away wormspore nodes too, it's not like we need 3200 of them. Gi bungie.

          • I never once hear anyone say, "Man, I have so many weapons parts I wish I had less". Seeing as we can give them to factions for rep weapon parts are useful again for not only just guns. Thats why some people use them and some done because some dont even know you could turn them in for rep. Now we are suck with no weapon parts from guns I discarded. Did those guns I discarded not take weapon parts to build. That doesnt make any sense.

          • In the news article it called us a choke point. It said people had too many weapon parts and so they reduced them or............they had too few and it was a choke point, so they reduced them? That down at make any sense as the ok said it's like people in the desert need water but hey that group has tons so let's give less to all, what? My logical argument for more parts. I like to level up my weapons. I like to infuse. I want to try them fully leveled to see if they are good. I then hold onto them til I am sure the next one is as good or better if it's close I keep both. It feels as though I am hampered in this by the rate as it was before let alone now. I can't tell you how to help the people that have "too many" I can only speak for those that use them on all their equipment. You bungie have said you wish us to diversify, to try new things so I do with the gear that I get and I run out so I go to get more supplies, more weapons come (yay) but now I need supplies for them as well. Let's look at the rate of parts I break down a suros 280 if it was tricked out I get 6 parts or less usually and greens net one period that's it. Now if I bought all available upgrades I might have spent 15 or more easliy. The net loss is staggering let's says I do this 10 times that's a loss of 70 on legendary gear If we go to the more prevalent blues where I See more like 3 parts it becomes a loss of 120 with no return. See the cycle please take this into consideration

          • I have roughly around 46 days of playtime, and scrounge for weapon parts on a daily basis. I had about 2000 when TTK hit. I used about half to level DO up and saved the rest thinking that would be plenty. Which it should be! I have weapons fully upgraded but no parts to do so. I even usually end up dismantling exotics waiting on parts for their parts to use on other weapons, since I can buy back the exotic later. The elemental materials that people bitched about farming in the beginning was nothing compared to this. Bungie has to change it or at least make the same options available across the board for ALL materials.

          • The problem is, Bungie are idiots. They see that a few people have used parts, motes, coins etc to rank up, get other things etc and figure, lets stop the 5% of guys doing that, while -blam!-ing the other 95% of people that don't play 10 hours a day. It's like the entire design team are -blam!-ing morons. There are lots of easy options to solve pretty much every problem Destiny has, yet these numb nuts just continue to not listen (until it gets WAY out of hand) and make themselves look like dummies time and time again. The problem with not allowing us to advance is, we shouldn't be told how to play. People are getting bored, not because they are getting done with the content but because we've been playing the same damn game for a year!!! How is that hard to figure out? There is gonna be a big movement once the other AA games come out but it's been a good run, I for one will still sign on for weekelys but bungie sucked the fun out of the game. It pretty much takes me a week of playing to rank up 1 faction rep for each character..... so now you take away motes etc to make it even longer.... thanks -blam!-faces

            • A couple of things come to mind when I put on my spinmetal bs detector hat... Bungie must have seen that more than a few players were using loads of weapons parts to level up factions quicker than anticipated. So, nerf. Or, bungie saw that many players were having fun upgrading all kinds of stuff and playing the game the way they want to. Oops, nerf. Or, bungie has a spin wheel on the wall and every week some intern gets to play "spin for nerf" and this week it was weapon parts!
