Hey Malphisto. I'm not on here much anymore, but I saw your post and I figured I'd give it a bump. You (or maybe Lost Sols, or both of you) offered the thesis that the only way to get Bungievision's attention is to hurt their sales. Combine that with the fact that they don't know how to make a consistent game, and my solution is that I've basically walked away. It's nice. The Kontaku article is interesting. We believed most of those concepts for a long time (e.g. the story-cutting, the strife, etc.) However, we did not know the degree of technical difficulties that Bungievision caused for THEMSELVES. The article reveals that the problems were extensive, to say the least. We've been subsidizing Bungievision's mistakes. Also, they are being wasteful with our money. They are not reliable, and the value is just not there. Cheers.

  • Yeah, I mean Activision didn't make it any easier, but this is confirmation that Bungie Leadership is at the root of the problem. They had a game and instead of sticking with it and trusting the rest of their team, they made their own judgement call which resulted in just ruining the entire game and experience. Not just that, but their choices just in general have been bad. If the Engine is THAT much of a problem? They should have gutted that sucker and made something better. 343 Industries actually have a video explaining that they did the same thing for their own engine, cause it was old and inefficient. But Bungie didn't think to devote resources to doing something similar? Years of development and that never came up at all? NO ONE voiced this to any of the Team Leads? No, I refuse to believe that. The leads should have been fully aware of all these things from the get go.
