Only reason I ever thought it could be a possibly is because I remember seeing some concept art before the game came out I think, showing the inside of the traveller was the black garden. Concept art, or early art, I'm not sure now, it was a while ago.

2 RepliesIts not evil but also not good. It literally only helped us because it wanted us advanced in order to fight and die as the last line of defense for the traveler. Also the fallen used to have the traveler, there are hints everywhere.

1 ReplyI fee it's less that the traveller is evil, and more that it's selfish. It uses us to protect itself, getting many humans and guardians killed. It left the fallen when they were no longer useful, and I bet it would do the same to us if we started to lose the war with the darkness.

You have good points, but the standing issue is that we know nothing of the travelers intentions or really anything about it. Why would it help us? Best case scenario would be that it hopes we can end it's age long war with the darkness and pretty much used us. Or maybe it is legitimately trying to help and the story is as cut and dry as it seems so far, and the darkness is malevolently chasing the traveler. We don't know. You're spewing as many theories around as game theories did. The only facts we know is that the traveler came, gave us the ability to skyrocket our civilization into an golden age only to be subsequently collapsed and brought down to its knees to a point where humanity is nearly extinct, brought on by an incomprehensible force labeled as the darkness that's purely chasing after the traveler. We're merely bystander casualties in the age long war. The traveler knew the darkness was chasing it, so my question is, why would the traveler purposely put billions of lives at risk if he was just trying to help? Why not stay away from civilization and fight his own war?

While there may be a myriad of details to dive into as to why the traveler isn’t evil, I think we’re missing the biggest clue; Bungie. Whats the conclusion of Destiny if the traveler is evil? Whats the message? The only light you should follow is your own? (Ask the Cabal). There is no light, only might (Ask the Hive). Light is everywhere, make it your own? (Ask the Awoken). You don’t need light to survive, therefore you don’t need light (Ask the Fallen). Light is relative? (Ask the Vex). However, I do think we need to see the light in action OFF the battlefield. I want to see a guardian/ghost to give up their spark to save a child’s life, or something like that. We need to see why the light matters.

6 RepliesThe Traveler has an Evil twin, without question, our traveler is evil, and the one the Fallen seek to get back is the "good" one. Barrons Ambition confirms there are two travelers. Cloak of the Trinity Star And the Trinity Star Artifact also eludes to this as well.
