Why can't you just identify as a gamer? Why do you have to let everyone know your a gurrrrrl gamer? Do you want to be treated differently? Because that's what you'll get

Edited by AlexisRivera: 10/21/2015 2:13:15 PMIts hard not to notice they are female when using mics. Its not like they are actually doing anything specific just to draw attention to themselves. (Although just like men some of them do crave the attention.)

I'm referring to her post here specifically. There is nothing to this post, no point. it's entire purpose is to garner attention

Edited by Kelevra: 10/21/2015 3:21:24 PMGirl gamers get a ton of shit from guy gamers online, it's rare that I hear guys keeping their cool when they notice a girl in the game. It's not like she's waving a female gamer flag for the hell of it. Sounds more like an attempt to get guys to chill out. FYI, it usually requires getting people's attention to introduce change

You don't understand. Gamers are gender less. They're just people on another side of the screen. My girlfriend had received exactly zero harassment because she just plays the f*ckin game and doesn't bring her vagina into it.
-
Well then I'd say she lucked out. The vast majority of girl gamers get harassed on the daily. I have a few gamer friends who went through the same stuff all the time. Go look at the girl gamers on twitch, they deal with harassment constantly and it's not even from little kids that think it's funny. Hardcore gamers legitimately don't want them to have any involvement in gaming.
-
Girl gamers on twitch also have millions of followers, and almost all of them are only following because they like seeing girls in low cut shirts be zomg so quirky and nerdy teehee. Again, my point is that if you just played the game like anyone else without plastering your gender and face all over anything associated with that, you won't hear a peep. But if you go looking for attention, you're going to get it
-
Yes, if you feel the need to throw out the girl thing to get attention then sure it's not right. It's not like this post is "hey, I'm a girl gamer look at me!" It's "hey, girl gamer who is tired of guys acting like dumbasses online. How many girl gamers do we have in the community?" There's a difference between making a post for attention and making a post to see how many fellow girl gamers are in the community.
-
That's like someone making a post saying "pagan gamer here, how many other pagans out there?" Or "hey uncircumcised gamer here, how many other uncircumcised gamers here?" The same goes for religion, politics, sexual orientation. It's trivial, it doesn't belong here.
-
Neither does the 70% of threads created on here to cry and rant about how awful this game is when they continue to play it. In the end this is a community forum. I respect a girl making a post like this once in a while supporting the small population of girl gamers than the vast amount of children bitching and moaning on here.

I'm sure she'll see your support and pledge her life to you, sir white knight
-
HAHAHAHA!!!! It was only a matter of time before you got your panties in a bunch and drop the "white knight" comment. Just because you get all butthurt about some chick making a thread on a gaming forum. Grow up child
