You want secrets and puzzles? Stay off the forums, and stay away from youtube. Stay away from any method of seeing other people discovering things. Go figure everything out alone. Then! you will have what you are asking for. Otherwise, we are all riding the coat tails of those who are kind enough to release guides to these things mere hours after they go live. Which if you ask me, ruins the surprise and hunting factor.

  • That's not the point of my post at all. There was literally nothing special about any of the roads to these exotics. I do want secrets and puzzles, which is exactly why I thought sleeper simulant was totally ridiculous. After so much searching, it was just there. For no reason. No puzzle. Just there. Invalidate all the attempts at finding the next step by just revealing "we just made you wait all along!" They had a chance to make NTtE exciting upon the paradox daily being explored, things found, opening up new paths, but they dead ended us again. People were hyped up for all of about an hour til it was like "you hand it in and nothing happens". I like puzzles, the hunt is exciting right up until the "unnecessary dead end" point, and then people are trying to work out the next stage of a puzzle that doesn't exist. That puzzle SHOULD exist. If they're a big enough deal to be classified on the site, there should at least be some substance to the road obtaining them.

  • The problem with releasing everything on launch day, is that there will be someone(s) who will find everything within the first week or two. They will release a video about it, and within the first month, everyone will have uncovered all the secrets. Then there would be nothing to do, and people would stop playing. It happens pretty often in many games. Skyrim did a pretty good job at hiding things, and people were still finding new things for longer than a month. But that is an exception to a pretty common situation.

It's not even that that's the issue for me tbh, although I do personally think gamers should be allowed to play at their own pace and not have their progression dictated by a button push at bungie HQ. It's just being up front about it. Don't give us step 1 on a quest chain and then hide step 2 behind a time gate, without making it clear that it's a time gate. It's saying "you were on the right path, you got to the right place, followed all the right steps, but no, nothing has happened. You can go fruitlessly look elsewhere until we say so." They even went as far as to tease people with FAKE clues for SS, when they all knew there was no way we could obtain it. How backwards is that?! Encouraging people to work to uncover things that aren't there. I personally couldn't care less if everyone found all the secrets day one, but bungie should have put more effort into keeping them secret in a fair way. All the old halo Easter eggs are pretty solid proof Bungie knows how to keep things secret, they're applying none of that here, though.

  • I can agree with that. For instance, sleeper simulant. They could have given a hint that what they were looking for wasnt the gun, but a neat easter egg instead. Atleast to set the expectations more correctly. This way people wouldn't have been so disappointed when they found out there was no prize to be won by uncovering the basketball court.

If there is a guy out there playing that way, he is going to be so pissed when he finds out this stuff is only in the game for a day or two at a time.
