I'm sorry to say that you're wrong. The main issues are not a lack of communication or even greed. The issue is just that they've lost their touch as a game studio and bitten off more than they can chew. Halo was a very simple game, pretty standard shooter. Destiny is a far more complicated game - not just a shooter, but also a social RPG. It's pretty clear that they just don't know how to do it. The most glaring issue is the huge lack of story. Don't get me wrong, gameplay is more important, and Destiny's gameplay is amazing. But progression is very important to Destiny - the player has to feel like they are getting more powerful. They keep telling us that this feeling of power is coming, but has it? No. Of course the enemies have to become more powerful as well to keep the game challenging. So relatively we haven't progressed at all. Where does the progression come from then? The story. Take World of Warcraft - throughout every expansion your character becomes more important, from nothing to basically general status. It's meaningful progression because you actually have NPC characters worth comparing yourself to. What if in Destiny there were NPC guardians that actually did shit? I imagine a scenario where you fight through a mission only to end up surrounded at the end, when a legendary guardian (NPC) swoops in and saves your ass. Suddenly you're not the biggest baddest thing ever and you have something to progress towards. Eventually you surpass your savior/mentor and defeat some big bad guy and earn a shiny reward. There's nothing even remotely this good in Destiny. Nobody even cares that you've slain several gods. It's meaningless. What if you actually encountered the same boss multiple times? You see them in a story mission and maybe they kick your butt, but you finally defeat them in the raid? Sounds like progression to me. But above all else, I have to wonder how the management at Bungie could be so incredibly awful. How is it that they paid so little attention to the actual development of the game that they didn't realize it had issues until mere months before the expected release? What a joke.

True. Although, I would say that the story is perhaps the most important part of all, if not equally important as the gameplay itself. I mean back in the day of games like, say, Ultima 3: Exodus? The story is what captured the imagination and drove everything else about the games. I feel if a game has a great story, everything else will just fall into place. Then again, I'm also of the opinion that graphics should never take top priority. I would always rather graphics be sacrificed for a better overall experience.
