Actually i have heard of hundreds of female wizards prior to this game. Harry Potter has dozens and Dungeons and Dragons has hundreds.

That's becasue a witch and a wizard are technically the same thing with the only difference being gender(usually). In D&D it also goes by Race and Character Class.
