    I would encourage my kids to make their own decisions instead of forcing rules down their throats. That way they become more independent and deal with the repercussions of their own actions. I don't want them to learn by getting yelled at or grounded; they would end up being rebellious and resentful. I want them to learn by making mistakes. As long as they stay away from drugs and law enforcement that is.

  • K cool. I was asking the other guy why he says strict parenting is poor. My advice to you; quit being a punk. Your mom is strict with you because she cares about how you're going to turn out. You're going to have a lot of situations in life that you don't like but you can't run from them. Best learn how to deal with them now when you're young instead of when you're older
