The light of the exotic is influenced by all 3 characters you have.
If you have one character above 300, you have a 1/3 chance to receive a 310 exotic.
Two characters above 300 = 2/3 chance.
All 3 characters means all exotics drop at 310.

That's not true at all. The system doesn't work because basically it's all down to luck if you can get to 310. The guys doing raids are farming better gear, so grinding bosses for 310s will never work.

All three of my characters are 300 and about 80% of my engrams still decode at 290
