Uhh multiple things: You said "it's not about smoking it. It's about the use of it." Do you not use it by smoking it? Also how does it prevent asthma and lung cancer? Does smoking not also deposit tar inside your lungs? Correct me if I'm wrong but last Time I checked Tar is not good for your lungs. Also note: I'm just going off of common core information. Don't make any personal attacks.

  • Smoking is one use; I was saying that cuz; There are 15k+ uses an all these ppl are only talking about that one Also smoking it isnt even why its illegal. If you dont have lung problems;

Yea no; Inhalation of chemical vapor is the chief way of treating asthma; they are called inhalers and nebulizers and atomizers/vaporizers. The chemicals found in marijuana smoke unlike most other forms of smoke; Are non carcinogenic In fact thc and cbc chemical chains are proven to send cancer into remission and trigger cellular repair as well as other beneficial factors. Yea there are other forms of particulates in the smoke they are much different than tobacco smoke or wood burning fire smoke; Most notable difference is lack of carbon monoxide. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1277837/pdf/1477-7517-2-21.pdf Thats a government study that shows chemical composition of cannabis vs tobacco and cancer reversing effects of smoking weed. Also you may wish to check our the documents referenced in that government medical journal study release.
And yea its impossible to OD on
That article linked explains it PREVENTS 1/2 a dozen to a dozen cancers

    You're a dumb ass. You really think smoke heals you? Weed just like any other smoke that creates carcinogenic chemicals..... it is safe as an edible but those who smoke it at still bringing in smoke that damages the alveoli.

  • Yet I'm an emt and have been trained how to handle people with COPD. I know several old people who have it and ONLY smoked weed. You can post a bunch of b.s. that you don't even understand or you can get into the field like I have. A beginner albeit, but field experience with actual lab experience nonetheless.

    Where do you live? Environmental factors play a far greater role in COPD than a plant that, when smoked heavily WITH TOBACCO, only raises your odds of getting it by a miniscule fraction. Living in the Salt Lake valley, or Los Angeles, or Mexico City, or even a place with excessive mold issues, a non-smoker is more likely to contract COPD than a toker outside of those environments.

  • I live where people don't get COPD from the environment.

  • That's fair, I suppose. Still, even in a clean-air environment, studies from the UK suggest the maximum potential risk of COPD from heavy cannabis use to be no greater than 4.5%, when used alone. Your patients may be non-smokers, but do they live with smokers? Did they frequent night clubs in their youth? Have they attended a bonfire and stood downwind? Have they driven a car older than 1980? Have they been stuck in a traffic jam? Any of these things will cause greater exposure to more harmful substances than the inhalation of cannabis.

  • Either way there are negative side-effects from weed. Smoke inhalation is one of them if you are engaging in breathing in the smoke from burning leaves. I'm a supporter or smoking weed 100%. I believe it is a wonderful alternative compared to most pharmaceuticals, especially for those with cancer or nerve damage. I just think a lot of pot advocates go off the deep end snd get so slap happy they believe every positive written article or study that is published. And fyi to those that dont know, studies aren't always entirely factual. Statistics can easily be biased. Again, I support the use but I also don't ignore the negative facts.

  • I agree with you 100%. That said, even water and oxygen have a rather startling list of possible side effects, with far higher probability of serious side-effects from over-consupmtion. I try to stay rational about things. Pretty much anything can harm you, in some way. It's about weighing the pros and cons, and seeing what you're willing to live with the risks of. If no one ever took risks, this world would be a much different place, and rather boring, I'd imagine.

    COPD is a chronic lung condition that prevents one from smoking ANYTHING If some one with COPD used a vaporizer or atomizer to consume THC and or CBCs their COPD inflammation would be reduced. Its talked about in both the link to the medical journal i posted and the original source that specific reference is from Also i have Combat Life Saver training; its same damn training as your EMT training. And your an EMT not a PHD; you dont know jack about medicine. Your trained as a first responder and slight diagnostician.

  • ... we are talking about smoking... like you originally spoke of having healing properties. Smoking is not the same as using a vaporizer to diffuse H2O particles in a homogenous relationship with said substances such as thc.

  • Do your research: the specific carcinogens found in cannabis smoke have an anti-carcinogenic effect, therefore neutralizing itself while destroying cancerous and weakened cells that show signs of mutation.
