"Wait," Ax said. He peeked out, and saw something come out of the portal. "Help," begged the man. Ax came out of his cover to see a fellow guardian. He had heavy Injuries, but nothing Ax couldn't treat. He was a medic by trade, after all. Ax walked over to him and pulled him up. "You okay? Here." He turned to Alice. "Let's get this guy back to camp, yeah?" He lent him a hand, and eventually they were back to camp. Ax laid the guardian down on a log as he removed his chest piece. He opened a backpack and drew a small syringe, injecting... No, extracting something. He put the contents into a tube and then into a centrifuge. "Oh, I'm just extracting your DNA so I can treat your wounds better and accelerate the recovery process. Is that alright with you?"

"This is interesting... Half taken, half human. You're the only case I've ever dealt with like this. Oh, how stupid can I be." The centrifuge opened, and he placed the DNA into a spray gun. He took the spray gun and grafted skin and tissue directly onto his wounds. "I forgot to ask your name."

Ax woke up slowly, wiping the crust from his eyes before getting up. He was treated to a not so pleasant surprise. He looked over to the fire pit, and Alice was sitting there with a bomb vest. "Nonononononono..." Ax wondered if he was still dreaming. He came over to her. "Are you okay?" She shook her head. "That was rhetorical." He checked the clock on the trigger. 4:00. [i]Okay, okay. I can do this,[/i] he thought to himself. He woke up Eclipse and told him to sweep the area for anyone who could have done this. A speaker crackled to life on Alice's vest. "Hello, guardian. You have Eclipse, we need him back, yes? We'll trade: Eclipse... For Alice." Ax looked to Alice, who shook her head. "Shove that deal up your fallen a**," he said under his breath as he began to work on the bomb. [i]2:00[/i] Ax located the trigger and battery quickly enough. "Eclipse, get that whoever that was and get him on the line." [i]1:30[/i] Ax disabled the security system on the vest, but saw a sniper dot on Alice's head. Thanks to Eclipse, it quickly went away. [i]1:00[/i] Eclipse was close now, he could tell. He removed the captain's vanguard and approached the skiff where he was. Meanwhile, Ax disabled a manual secondary trigger. [i]0:30[/i] Eclipse took the captain hostage. "Okay, bud. You're gonna answer my questions. Then you'll run the hell away. Got it?" The fallen captain tried to grind Eclipse's toes. [i]0:20[/i] Eclipse's radio sparked to life. "Okay. There's a blue wire from the battery to the trigger. Do I cut it?" The captain shook his head, and he relayed the message. [i]0:15[/i] "Cool. There's a red one from a receiver to the trigger. Cut or no?" The captain didn't answer, and Eclipse tightened his grip. The captain broke. "No...no." [i]0:10[/i] "Okay. Green one from trigger to battery." No response from Eclipse. "Do you read me? Cut or no cut?" Time ticked down, and still no word. [i]0:05, 0:04, 0:03, 0:02, 0:01...[/i] [b]"Grr, BLAMMIT ALL!"[/b] And he cut. And there was no explosion.

Ax sighs in relief at what had just transpired. "Whoo... That was one heck of an adrenaline rush." He radioed Eclipse. "Hey Eclipse? What's your status?"

Eclipse looked around for a second and looked at the side of his body which was back to normal his armor The same as its always been but his ghost was nowhere to be found. He set the wire cutters down, "the hell?" He said quietly

"Eclipse?" He woke up, and Ax was shaking his limp body. "What happened, man? You passed out for a moment there. Anyway, we did it!" Alice stood over Ax's shoulder, but seemed distant. "Hey, what're you looking at?" Ax squinted, and eventually spotted a steel trunk. "What is that? Hopefully it's not ticking."

"Yea, over there." He points in the distance. Soon enough they came upon it, and scans showed no bombs. They brought it back to camp, where Ax opened it. Inside was a shotgun, a wide-brimmed hat, a knife, and a note. The note read... [i]Dear son, I wish I could have seen you grow up to be the great man I know you will be. You were the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and I do not plan on giving that up. But I will give anything to make you happy. And if that involves letting you join the Marines, so be it. I am not letting you go it alone, however. I have shipped a kit to help you on your journey. A shotgun, for when something stands in your way. A fedora, to keep you cool and level headed in the hot sun. A knife, to cut away all that is impure, everywhere you see it. And a dog, as a friend, a companion, and as someone to share the journey with. Son, I love you. I've made mistakes, but I always want the best for you. Just promise me you'll come home. Lockheed Callahann[/i] Ax was in tears. He could not believe what he had found. And he intended to make the most of his find.

Eclipse stood Near him in a ready stance with his red death and his helmet off at his side

"This is incredible, Eclipse. My god. I thought this was lost at sea." Ax turned to Eclipse. "I'm gonna make the most of this." And with that, Ax proceeded to spend 3 days tinkering with the shotgun and hat to bring them up to the current age. Finally, about 20 coffees later, he got it to work.

"Never seen a shotgun like that is it old world? And is this way front the past?

"Yeah, this stuff is from before the collapse." He held up the shotgun, which now had a disc on the stock with a glowing blue core in the middle along with several wires here and there. "Now it fires 9 two round bursts, one from each barrel."

Eclipse looked it over, Nice he said "Tho I wish I could see with both eyes"

Ax let out a slight chuckle, and donned his father's cowboy hat. "I implemented a face shield into the band of the hat so it gives just as much protection as normal helm would. Cool, huh?"

"You alright? You're seeming pretty distant as of late." Ax handed him a bag of potato chips. "Want some?"

"No thanks I don't want any and I'm sorry but I've been through a lot and am still coping with it" he holds the ring up that He held in his hand " my wife was taken when I grabbed for her hand this is all I could get back"

"Oh my god... I am so sorry for you. Is there anything I can do?" Dew ran up beside Eclipse and sat at his feet.

Eclipse pets dew gently, "Not really she's gone And I've accepted that hell I was so torn about it that's what you found me Half taken I went in after her and I was in that void for about 3 years looking and was finally spit out"

"You okay Eclipse? Is something wrong?" Ax asked as he tended to Alice.

"This isn't right he spoke his face twisted in confusion" I'm 100 percent human again and my ghost...is gone and my armor isnt...damaged. I felt like I was in a bomb squad or i...dint have control of myself". He searches for his pulse rifle. " My rifle is also gone"
