Staring at the bottom of a glass, his fifteenth, Aries couldn't even be bothered to care about the last few months. So much had happened. So much had gone wrong. And yet, here he was, drinking away what he assumed to be sorrow. To be honest he couldn't tell anymore. And it's not because of the alcohol. These days, he hardly felt anything. No anger, no guilt, and no sadness. All that is left is an empty feeling. A large one. Aries could only assume it's because of just how close he came to finding peace, and seeing as it got ripped away from him. After that, he just stopped caring. He was a drifter now, stumbling from bar to bar, hidden under a large cloak, for no good reason that he could think of.
He remembered how the guardians foiled his conquest of the earth. By going back in time. He had to give credit to James. He was always a tough bastard. He also remembered the anger he felt, when he witnessed the city appear out of thin air, right back where it usually stood. He remembered how the Hive under his control began being rebellious. He wouldn't stand for that. He put down the rebellious Hive. Even destroyed his entire fleet. Out of anger. The survivors ran and spread out among the solar system. He didn't bother tracking them down. All of this went through his mind in an instant, and would've continued that way, until another person under a cloak sat right next to him. Nothing strange about that. Except for his hand. It was Vex. And then he spoke, and Aries grew startled, something he didn't know he could be anymore.
" Took me a while to track you down, old friend."
