Staring at the bottom of a glass, his fifteenth, Aries couldn't even be bothered to care about the last few months. So much had happened. So much had gone wrong. And yet, here he was, drinking away what he assumed to be sorrow. To be honest he couldn't tell anymore. And it's not because of the alcohol. These days, he hardly felt anything. No anger, no guilt, and no sadness. All that is left is an empty feeling. A large one. Aries could only assume it's because of just how close he came to finding peace, and seeing as it got ripped away from him. After that, he just stopped caring. He was a drifter now, stumbling from bar to bar, hidden under a large cloak, for no good reason that he could think of. He remembered how the guardians foiled his conquest of the earth. By going back in time. He had to give credit to James. He was always a tough bastard. He also remembered the anger he felt, when he witnessed the city appear out of thin air, right back where it usually stood. He remembered how the Hive under his control began being rebellious. He wouldn't stand for that. He put down the rebellious Hive. Even destroyed his entire fleet. Out of anger. The survivors ran and spread out among the solar system. He didn't bother tracking them down. All of this went through his mind in an instant, and would've continued that way, until another person under a cloak sat right next to him. Nothing strange about that. Except for his hand. It was Vex. And then he spoke, and Aries grew startled, something he didn't know he could be anymore. " Took me a while to track you down, old friend." (( Closed. This is Part 1 of my little story here ))

( For convenience, Aries speaks with " ", James speaks with italics ) Aries, not the type of person who could be caught off guard easily, was shocked. He didn't look at him, but he knew who it was that just sat down next to him. What he didn't know, was just how that person found him. " How'd you find me." Im persistent " Going to kill me?" I was thinking about it. Then I got a better idea. " And that is?" One last adventure. Aries chuckled. " And why would I want to go anywhere with you." Because I know drowning yourself in alcohol isn't your style. Besides. I haven't even told you what we're gonna do. " Why don't you enlighten me?" What if I told you that I found another use for the Vex portals? " You mean, beyond -blam!-ing me over?" Yeah. What if I could tinker with one so it'll teleport us to another galaxy? Aries nearly choked on what he was drinking. He knew James travelled beyond the solar system, but that was only a few stepping stones away. This is on a much grander scale. " Are you taking me for a fool?" I didn't come here to belittle you. I'm being genuine. Wouldn't you rather go see something no other person has ever seen? Instead of sitting here in a bar? One last push for glory? Aries pondered this. Of course he'd choose anything other than this. And besides. He had grown sick of this solar system anyway. Without anymore delay, Aries silently nodded. James chuckled and gave him coordinates to somewhere on Venus. See you there buddy. With that, James got up and left. Aries didn't watch him go. He was too busy pondering what he was about to do. (( Part 2 ))

Aries walked over the stone ruins of the Vex stronghold. All around, were heaps of its protectors. Goblins, Hobgoblins, Minotaurs, And Harpies all lay dead and broken. Not by his hand. He only just got here. Further on ahead, he saw a large portal, a little bit smaller than the portal that the Gate Lord popped out of near the Vault of Glass. Even smaller, was a Warlock that was tinkering with it. James. Aries closed the distance quickly and appeared right behind him. " So this is your pet project?" James didn't look back. Yeah. I'm almost done with the calibrations. Aries looked closer, and saw that James had his Vex arm extended towards the portal, and could see physical data being transferred to and from him. After a few seconds, the portal beamed with activity, as it opened up. Aries looked at his exit from this hellish place. He still didn't feel anything. Not that it mattered now. James checked his hand cannon before looking at Aries. Ready? " I think so." Anything you want to say before we leave this place? Aries thought for a moment. He chuckled and turned around. Lifting his arm to shoulder level, he flipped off the solar system. He turned around towards James, who didn't say anything, except nod. They both walked towards the portal. See you on the other side. They both walked forward, and disappeared. The portal closed down after them. They were never seen again.
