I have noticed that a lot of my Christian friends like draw parallels between the Bible and anything that could even remotely be similar in any aspect. I'm not sure why that is, but it's a little bit weird to me that you all (you and these friends of mine, not generalizing everyone) try compare everything back to the Bible. That being said, I'm not here to judge anyone. You do what makes you happy. Sorry I don't have any input about further comparing destiny to the Bible. You have yourself a great day, friend.

  • +1 Try not to look for a deeper meaning where there is none. It's like me drawing parallels between my love of Bacon and how that probably makes pigs ascendant animals.

  • Ugh me too. And even as a Christian I get it's annoying to bible thump people and all that shit. That doesn't mean I won't spread the word, but I'm not gonna compare The Hunger Games to the Bible and etc. just no need

  • I harbor no ill will for any beliefs, I just don't understand the need to compare it to everything. By all means spread the word, but I urge you to not try to convert others or try to change other's beliefs in order to align them with your own/your religion's beliefs. I only say this because I am Hindu and a couple of people I used to be friends with would always try to make me believe as they do and always tried to convert me and because they wouldn't just respect my beliefs enough to allow me to believe as I do. Thus I couldn't be friends with them anymore since even though I respect their beliefs they wouldn't respect mine. Basically I am just urging you, and anyone really, to respect other people's beliefs enough to allow them to believe whatever they choose to without interfering to try to change their beliefs. Tl;dr- I'm not sure. I guess I was ranting a little bit, and it was probably unnecessary; I'm sure you're great and a nice person, so it ended up just being an anecdote that nobody cares about haha Have a fantastic day, friend.
