Bungie have a design theory that players who do both pve and pvp play for a lot longer than players who just do one or other.
So they think getting players to pvp will keep them playing.
Which is very flawed logic. It's like China thinking toasters make people smarter because all smart people have tossers.
But don't expect this to change the dev behind this has a bit of ego and tends to only change methods where we are littlary burning the place down causing bad PR and players start to quit... (see rasool engram issue in year 1)
