It's changing Destiny's business model. The smaller DLC's will end up free due to cosmetic micro transactions.
Next, you expect Bungie to pay their employees to develop new stuff like emotes and give them out for free? Seriously? Are you ok for you to go to your job and work for free? Bungie is a business. They create a product to sell and to make a profit.

Edited by cViking: 10/6/2015 6:54:51 PMI agree that it is going to help in ways but I am just affraid this could branch out and end up migrating into a P2W style game. If these stay 100% cosmetics like emotes and shaders or emblems then it will all be good.
-
You don't understand at all how this stuff works.
-
Edited by Caddy197: 10/6/2015 6:51:54 PMReally? Pretty sure I do. You questioning it, makes me believe you are a teenager barely able to pass a common core class from this "entitlement" generation. Get back to class, let the adults around here continue our conversation.
-
I see an immature person who doesn't have the slightest clue what he's talking about.
-
Really? Pretty simple. Bungie sells cosmetic items. Bungie makes profits off that and gives out free DLC's through Fall 2016. How hard is that to understand buddy? It's in the link. Also, same approach as other games out there. Example, Guild Wars. It's been done before and very successful. Now, move along child.

Edited by DarkMythos: 10/6/2015 6:44:50 PMYou can't put logic into people who think they have it but obviously lack it. It's like feeding chocolate to a dog, they'll probably die

Activision already paid Bungie half a billion dollar to make the Destiny franchise. Their employees are quite well paid regardless of if someone buys these rubbish micro-transactions.
-
And what is your point? It's a business. In to make profits and to stay in business.
-
I expect the next 2 DLCs to be a max of £15 then. But they'll stay as £20 i bet.
-
Probably but if it has as much content as ttk i dont mind
-
Fair enough but its going to be more like TDB and HOW.
-
Maybe hopefully not
-
This. No one seems to understand the purpose of business. It's not to give things away for free, it's taking a risk with the hope of turning a profit.
-
Did I get the game for free? Last I checked I was $140 in. Bungie can pay its employees out of that.
-
Edited by PizzaMan725: 10/6/2015 5:42:23 PMYou do know that Bungie doesn't even see half of the retail price right?
-
Of course. Even if they are only seeing 40% of that they are doing quite well.
-
Positive on that? I don't know their profit margins, though I doubt they'd try to go in the red. Yearly support costs quite a bit for a company.
-
-
Well I guess they are truly out to destroy the gaming industry then.
-
Yeah bungie blankman007 paid $140 that should be enough for everyones salary. How dare you try to make more money. His $140 is more than enough to feed all your families.
-
Am I the only person that bought the game? That's $140 per player moron. You know what bungie? Microtransaction away. These idiots deserve it.
-
And Activision and the cut that the people who sell the disk version so GameStop and the shipping cost and the marketing campaigns and the actors in that campaign and the fees for the building they work in and taxes
-
Yep. Should cover it.
-
Most Likey yes but they'll just most likely break even
-
And the costs of their equipment
