And if you actually read the article if these go well we may not have to pay for another dark below/house of wolves mini expansions again. They hope that this will have enough profit that they can give out filler content for free even if you don't buy emotes.

Do you really think these micro transactions will earn them enough to release the year two versions of dark below and house of wolves for free you gotta be crazy they would lose so much money it would be unreal that would just be a complete stupid move on there part. We will probably still have to pay for these dlcs but the money that is made from micro transactions will be used to deliver us free content in between these like an extra strike, a few new missions, an extra quest line maybe even a new exotic every couple of weeks or so. They would be real stupid not to still charge us for the next dlcs that's where they make there money and loads more ppl will buy them then emotes. The idea of bringing in these micro transactions for emotes is a good thing as long as it stays with cosmetic stuff only as alot of ppl will buy them and it will fund a little extra content so I support it if it doesn't go out of hand.

"They hope" They aren't a crowd funded little business that has a tight niche little community to help pay for their games. Their a well organized money making machine. This was always part of the plan.
