Micro Transactions Don't Belong in $60 games.
There's no justification for it. Even if I don't spend a dime myself doesn't mean it's not sick that I paid for this game and every expansion pass and still have items blocked off from me.
It doesn't matter what items your selling.
It doesn't matter how cheap they are.
You're taking advantage of people and it's wrong. It's not a debate.

1 ReplyI agree, the emotes should be drops or in game activity rewards. I can see where Hactivision sees this as a business opportunity but I think it's a bit too much. It certainly isn't pay to win but I wouldn't put it past them.

If some idiot buying a dance emote means I get free missions, I am all for it. Whats funny to me is that, Shark Cards DO provide an in-game advantage, and GTA:O has been none the worse for it. With 30 player free-roam, GTA:O is more of a shared-world shooter than Destiny is.

Didn't stop CoD; Didn't stop gta V; Didn't stop WoW; Didn't stop Star Wars The Old Republic Didn't stop The Elder Scrolls Online It's a ploy to make more money and it's never going to stop. If you don't want to partake in Micro transactions then don't and enjoy what you got. It's not becoming a pay to win so there for ut won't affect you.

Supporting micro transactions in a game you paid full price for is basically telling the developers it's okay to -blam!- my wallet further by including economic models that were originally designed for free to play games to make money since there is no up front purchase. To look at it another way, games have become so popular since the release of last gen consoles that large game developers and publishers have more or less reached their max potential in audience for AAA games, unless economics from third world countries reach the same point as first world countries. What that means is they have been looking for more and more ways to offer you less for more. Usually by cutting costs or finding the best way to chop up their game to sell as dlc or micro transactions after release for maximum profits. The 60-80 dollars you spend on an AAA game is or was originally meant, to cover any costs For development and support. The 0 to 0 dollars you spend in free to play games is meant to cover nothing and micro transactions are meant to cover any costs for development and support. Destiny within its first month made back the initial investment of 500 million dollars. You mean since then, they haven't made more money from their original release plus from all 3 of their dlcs to cover any future development costs and upkeep? Micro transactions should hold no place in games you pay near to, or full price.

Mass Effect 3s multiplayer was powered by micro transactions. Fantastic squad arena shooter. Never spent a dime. Got a year of free updates, maps and weapons. Fleshed the game out tenfold. Ill take my chances and agree with Bungie on this one.

How many other games have "micro transactions?" ALOT CoD has weapon skin packs, GoW has the same. Plenty of games offer extras for some extra coin. If you want them, buy them. If not, don't. Period.

From what they have said it's really no different than other games that sell outfits and other customization items. I do acknowledge there is a slippery slope Bungie could go down with this by making it so exotics can be bought with a few dollars, but hopefully it doesn't end up that way. On the brightest side of this, we all get free silver AND if no one utilizes the feature (or few do) it probably won't be around for long.

But saying it doesn't belong in a 60$ game implies MT's are alright in FTP games. which is essentially saying "feel free to try and take advantage of me or manipulate me because your game is free." Which is dumb logic. And your argument is about entitlement. So get over yourself.
