"Is what you seek truly here, O subtlety mine? " oh great, it's back again... Rin thought. The voice always came when he was alone, especially out in the wilds. He didn't know if it disliked company, or only wished to keep his Light to itself, but it didn't matter. All that did was that it was back. "You should know as well or better than I do," he snapped. "Knowledge worth anything is never given freely. It's sought after, and earned." This was his third day straight watching from his perch overlooking the fallen ketch known as Simiks-Fel. He had gotten word from Cayde that the remaining Awoken in the Reef had some info regarding the Dreadnaught orbiting Saturn, and was sent to investigate, and now he was on a Wolf hunt to get it. The target was a rising Wolf Archon by name of Noxsis, and small wonder it chose House Winter to slip into. After losing their Kell, Prime, and their last attempt with Aksor, the Winter fallen were getting desperate. "There are other means to find what you seek, O Subtlety mine. It lies out on the moons." Once again, Rin found himself thinking he should've left that thrice-cursed skull where he found it during his sweep of the Vault after a team of Guardians destroyed Atheon. But he waved the notion aside for the time and readjusted his sights on his Stillpiercer. "Right, I'm sure I'll find it just before getting killed by the Hive no doubt guarding it." he retorted. "Thanks, but I'll take a cunning Wolf pup over a swarm of angry undead any day." " Always so cautious, O Subtlety mine. Yet that is why I speak with you, for your views." The voice had a point. Rin didn't like the whole idea that the world was so rigidly split between Light and Dark, but instead looked upon it as variations of the ideas of Law, Neutrality, and Chaos. However, just as he was considering accepting the compliment, his target stepped outside the Ketch and into the Venusian sunlight. "Oh Thrall spit," Rin cursed. Noxsis was wearing the colors of House Winter. "Clever, Clever little Wolf," he mused. "but Variks has given me this task, and you must die. Hey Yoru." Rin's Ghost, Yoru, appeared next to him. "Need something Rin?" "Load some of those music files we managed to salvage on the Fourteenth Floor back in Japan into my helmet's internal speakers for me." Rin was referring to a group of pre-Golden Age soundtracks whose title could barely be salvaged, yet appeared to be part of a set, XIV: ARR, XIV: BTF, and XIV: HW. He found them interesting, and one of the few things that could subdue the voices for a short time. But before Yoru could load the first one, it spoke again. " You have an audience, O Subtlety mine. Though it is not that which lies before you." It was then Rin heard the footsteps coming up the hill behind him. Sometimes, its nice to have a semi-omnipotent voice in your head, especially if it takes a liking to you... he thought. The footsteps weren't like any he'd heard before, and he'd gotten fairly good at identifying them. Quickly, he ran through the list of things they couldn't belong to. Not Fallen, for these were heavy footsteps, nor did it have the telltale thud of Vex metals or a Titan's plasteel plate armor. So that left three choices: it was either a heavy-footed Warlock, a Hunter with no care for Stealth, or it was Something that didn't belong on Venus..... Hoping it was one of the first two, He spoke without looking back. "Whatever business you might have with me, you mind waiting another hour or so? I'm kinda in the middle of something."
