Name: Mora
Ghost's name is Lux, for the record.
Race/Gender: Human/female
Class/Subclass: Warlock/Voidwalker
Description: Well, her face looks like this and she's usually rocking any of the four Dead Orbit shaders. Personality wise? I've never been good at summing up a characters personality, I'm better at showing, but she's a decent mix of both wise and cheeky. She's very much in tune with the order of things and can usually sense the light of another guardian or the presence of darkness, something I would assume most rudimentary Warlocks can do. She's taught herself to walk across the Void through meditation*, so she can see some things from the then and now, but without much clarity.
About her Void-walks in an effort to clarify: I don't like playing overpowered or godmodding characters, but I like to play them accurately. Warlocks are powerful, Voidwalkers especially so as they can, more or less, see through a lot of doors. Mora can walk the Void and see things, events, people, places, but not be able to make out the most of it.
Fifth dimensional beings can see all of time and space at once, without obstruction. They can see it all happening at the same time, right in front of them, and process it. Mora's not a fifth dimensional entity, though, which is why she can only see bits and pieces, if she focuses on them.
It should also go without saying that no assumptions about a character's past/present/future will be made without their typist's consent and godmodding is out of the question.
Bio: "Why I Joined Dead Orbit? Mm. I was borne on Luna, an old observation post in Mare Cognitum. The ceiling was domed, made of fiberglass and metal beams. But right above where I lay, a portion of that dome was missing. Destroyed, collapsed, a synonym thereof. The first thing I saw, when I opened my eyes, were the stars. Bright, glistening, mesmerizing stars, each so bold and luminous, filling up the dark expanse of space. It spoke to me, in it's own wordless way. Ever since, I knew my fate lied beyond this dead orbit."
Following that (re)birth on the moon, Mora's Ghost found her transport back to the City. The Vanguard made quick note of her, as is done with all new Guardians, and gave her some field rotations to shake off the cobwebs. She spent some time aiding the city, studying the journals of her predecessors, and honing her powers. Usual stuff. A relatively short while later, she came across a representative of Dead orbit in the Tower, and pledged herself to her newfound covenant. She takes a backseat role within Dead Orbit, scavenging Golden Age relics within the Sol System that the Fleet could use while donating the leftovers to both the Vaunguard and the Tower Hangar crew. Alternative activities include securing Forward Operating Bases within the system for DOrbit ships, both incoming and outgoing, keeping flight paths clear of the Darkness for DOrbit excursions, and your usual Guardian duties of combating the Darkness, it's minions, and buying time for The City. The only reason she's not packed up and left on one of DOrbit's crusades is because, simply, it is not her time. She has seen it happen, her pilgrimage from Earth to faraway lands, but only in a vision. She knows not when it will happen, but will know when the time comes.
Awesome, thank you! I have a couple of questions for you though, whenever you can answer them. First, is there an established setting in the IC thread that I should start in, I.E. The Tower, Reef, etc, or can I just put my guardian wherever she wants to be? Second, what are the rules on stepping into a scene-in-progress? Is it accepted if the characters are in a public space or is that up to the people in the scene? Third, what's a good way to start a scene? Do I just make up a post of "Mora does x thing at y place..." And leave it open for somebody to join? And if there's any other dos, don'ts, and protips that I should be aware of, please let me know! I don't mean to take up your time, I just haven't touched forum roleplays in a couple of years and I don't want to do something wrong.
