Deep beneath the Cosmodrome, a lone warlock sits tapping at an ancient, crumbling key board, muttering to himself. "Damn this is complicated... those golden age scientists didn't mess around..." A cracked screen, covered with centuries of filth, suddenly glows with a flickering neon blue light in front of him. "Finally." At the same time, a crackling Russian voice comes from the rusty skeleton of a speaker above. "Shut up, Rasputin. You haven't exactly made this easy for me. Do you think I'm going to listen to your pleas now?" The voice suddenly cuts off as the warlock taps another key, smiling. "Ghost, standby. Once I'm done, I want you to erase all trace of me." The warlock taps another few keys in quick succession before standing up, causing dust to fall all around him. "The vanguard may hate me, but this is for the greater good. Sacrifices must be made. For the future of us all." He moves to the door. "Rasputin, your orbital weapons are finally going to be put to good use."
open

ok guys now it's really open
• A snide, sarcastic tone of voice utters the words: "That seems a bit harsh, don't you think? I agree not being able to buy parts seperate from weapons is a bit ridiculous, but nuking the world is a little overkill in my humble opinion." A rather lanky hunter, wearing a Vermillion Stripe set of gear painted a golden and white color set jumps down from his hiding spot on the scafolding above the Warlock and lands on his feet just yards away from them. He has a black rose pulsating with green energy floating delicately above his hand. He puts the plant into a loop on his belt, and looks directly at the Warlock. "If I had to guess, I would say debating this is out of the question." He pulls a white railgun-like gun from his back, and slaps a battery in the slot on the bottom. Too bad, I was hoping I could introduce you to an Exo Warlock I know. You might have hit it off." He adjusts his purple cape, and readies his weapon. "So then, shall we begin?"

"Fool." The warlock takes a few steps towards you. His robes are ragged and black, with a strange symbol you don't recognise going down the left side. "If you won't listen to the words of truth, then how do you hope to achieve enlightenment? "In any case, I can't risk you wrecking my plans. Though of course, you won't ever be able to fully understand them." The warlock holds up his hand, which suddenly becomes surrounded by whispering purple energy. He clenches his fist. The world suddenly tilts and flickers, and you find yourself alone in a massive dark chamber. The warlocks disembodied voice whispers from all places at once: "Lets see what you can do."
sorry I took so long to respond
• "The truth, enlightenment?" You're nothing more than a self-rightous sadist. Using crooked logic to excuse your actions." The hunter adjusts the screws on the bottom of his fusion rifle, with the emblem of The Queen visible on the barrel of the gun. "Regardless, I knew this would go badly. Thr Warmind you happen to be robbing has something I need. Something I'm willing to fight for." The guardian's right hand stayed stayed on the grip of his rifle, with his left drifting to a Hakke hand cannon on his left leg. "Show me what'cha got." He said with a smirk.
lel I'm no better
• A snort is heard from within the helmet. "As you wish." Flicking his fingers in simple void focus gesture, he rips your Hakke handcannon though the void into his hand, and immediately empties the magazine in your direction, laughing.

A slow clapping is heard in the corner. "Good. Very good. Orbital weapons, how creative." It is a hunter in the Bog set, and Old Guard shader. "Well Rasputin, you have gone to hell. Useless."

"Why?" The warlock is looking directly at you. You can feel his presence within the dead-looking, faceless wired helmet. "Take a look around. This whole system is dead, saturated with darkness. Only one city against planets? The idea is laughable." Only now do you realize his features look faded and blurry round the edges. "The vanguard are fools, blinded by their politics and hope. They cannot see what must be done." He moves closer. The inbuilt Geiger counter in your helmet goes crazy. "A new world must be created. A new start is needed. Sacrifices must be made. For the greater good." He stops. "For the future of us all."

  • "Do you want to know something?" He pauses. "I have been around for a few hundred years. I'm one of the first Exo. I have no resets, and I can't be reset, which is why 0 comes after my name. But in all these years, I have seen people like you. I saw and killed Ahamkaras. I assisted in the construction of the walls. But out of everything, not one has the City ever truly been threatened. It's not one city against planets, It's an army of the strongest species in the galaxy versus 4 species that don't even begin to compare, even when together."

  • "Oh, but they do compare, my exo friend." You can hear the amusement creeping into his voice. "Firstly, the fallen. Bloody, ruthless pirates. Amazing engineers. The only ones brave enough to attack the city: and they would've succeeded if the Queen hadn't stopped the wolves from joining. "Secondly, the vex. They are infinite. Seriously, you don't need me to explain how dangerous they are, do you?" He pauses, as if remembering something from long ago. "They existed long before humanity... only their own mysterious algorithms stop them from attacking. "Next, the hive. I trust one as ancient as you has gone down their endless tunnels and caves? Maybe in your old age you've forgotten the horrors you must've witnessed down there." The laughter has faded from his voice now. "The cabal... a large amount of evidence now suggests they are but a splinter group of the real army, a mere drop in the ocean of their system-spanning empire. "And last but not least: the taken. I'm sure you've fought them? Then you'll know that they are the worst aspects of all the previous races made flesh, completely bent to a merciless god's will." His voice has turned sorrowful. "There is nothing we can do... let go of your blinding hope. Does not intelligence come with old age? As does responsibilty. "Is this really a world you'd let your children grow up in?"

  • "But you miss something. The Hive revolve around the survival of the thralls. We just need to find the breeding grounds. The fallen. They were like us. We just need to show them that we are allies. The Cabal are too militarized. If we destroy a group, then the rest topple down. The vex are the interesting ones. They seem to worship things they do not understand." His wisps of taken energy become noticeable. "If they don't understand a biomass, how well do you think they'll understand me. A taken light. The solution is not for us to utilize these ancient weapons, but to get the others in a battle so heated, their social structure collapses on itself."

  • "You make things sound so simple... almost like before she..." He catches himself and shakes his head, which looks even more faded and blurry than before. In fact, you realize he is almost transparent. "I'm sorry, my friend, but I made up my mind long ago. Do you think I would get to this point just to quit? "The loss of life will indeed be apalling. But then again, guardians don't really count as alive, do they?" You can feel him looking directly at you through his rusty, wired helmet. "I'm sorry, really, but I made my decision years ago. There's no going back." His voice goes quiet. "I have already started the activation sequence."

  • Realizing what that meant, Hunter-0 uses a tether on his opponent before rushing to the panel. He begins rapidly typing, and the commands on the screen show how successful he is. He still has a long was to to though. "Rasputin, you ass. Help me out here."

  • "It took me a decade and a half to make Rasputin crack. " The warlock is calmly turning towards you, slowed by the whispering purple energy flowing around him. "Unfortunately, my methods were a bit too... brutal. Rasputin is in no state to do anything without my authorization for a long time. "I have all the codes in my head. I am the only one capable of stopping him. "This time tomorrow we will have a new world." He starts to go blurry and slightly transparent again, and his voice goes low once more. "I know that she would approve..."

  • The warlock stops suddenly. "Only four...? What? NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! I AM MAKING A NEW WORLD!" The purple tether holding the warlock is starting to fade. "STOP! I WILL CLEANSE THE SYSTEM OF DARKNESS!" A home-made golden age looking handcannon starts to materialise in his hands, it's progress also slowed by the rapidly fading tether. "I WILL PUNISH THE WICKED!" The tether disappears.

Hunter sends out his ghost to continue his work. "Not so fast." He pulls out a Häkke vanguard sidearm, and unloads the clip upon the insane warlock quickly.

To the hunter's suprise, the bullets go straight through the warlock, having no effect at all. "It's time you learnt who I am. THEN I WILL PUNISH THE WICKED. "I am vex simulation 074 of Esi . I am ancient and young. I am infinity and zero. I am the end and the beginning. I am the vex. I am human. I am real. I am another dimension. I am the parallel. And I have witnessed enough of this world, where people are slaughtered in millions. "Anyone who stands in the way of the final goal is an enemy. I have stolen this light and ghost to do this. "And now this ends." He fires four rounds into the hunter.

The first bullet hits Hunter, but he teleports, similar to a taken thrall. When you regain your sights on Hunter, you'll see that he has the properties of a taken. "Well. You're -blam!-ed." He splits like a Psion, and then launches the blinding blast. They both draw their swords and slash at Esi. The ghost, working at a faster pace than humanly possible, gets control of the 4 strongest weapons, one for each inner planet, and starts entering codes to fire upon other weapons.

  • The taken energies seem to work against the insane simulation. As the dark swords slice through his body he falls to the floor, screaming. "I WILL KILL THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER MURDER! I WILL PUNISH THE WICKED! I WILL-" He gasps suddenly as he is sliced in two. "I... will make a... new... world..." As he takes his final breath, he fires a shot at the ghost, temporarily disabling it. He then fades completely, leaving you alone in the dark, screen covered room. "For... her..."

  • He waves the duplicate away, and it is absorbed into him. "Ghost scan the place of death. I'll enter the codes." The ghost scans for whatever as Hunter-0 finishes the codes, not destroying every orbital weapon, but plunging it onto the planets.

  • Your ghost scans the area and picks up nothing but trace remains of radiation. Thanks to the taken abilities you absorbed, you destroyed the mad vex abomination. As you fly back to the tower later that day, having secured the orbital weapons, you shudder at the thought of the potential damage that could've been caused, and that that may have been just one of thousands of escaped vex simulations.
that was good huh? You write very well. This was my first time on a role playing thread, and I enjoyed it. Also, I used 'sundaresh'. Sorry, that was meant to be Esi. I edited it where I wrote sundaresh, could you do as well? Thanks.

if your wondering why, sundaresh is a girl according to vex grimoire.
• "Well you made my job a lot easier now haven't you?" Says a soft and quant voice. A voidwalker stands behind the warlock. Both of same order, both guardians; though from how things were escalating, only one would leave with their light. "Someone with some sense" KC continued with his bad juju raised at the other warlock's head. "I don't blame you for what you are doing. You are attempting to protect them. It won't work. Those ai were at their best all those centuries ago. AND YOU FATHOM A REDO MAY CHANGE ANYTHING?!?!" Kc was certainly perturbed. He was searching for an ancient ai. Delta. It was the one which fwc once utilized to see the future. What lead him here? Was it really attempting to save the city? His own ambition? Or that d##### skull. "Transfer all those files to my ghost. Specifically those that speak of an entity known as 'delta'. Then shut down the systems. You and the city will have to learn. Nature will always rule, and no wall will alter this. Only we can. Well you heard me. Are you going to comply? Or will I have to soil my hands once more?" *bad juju growls*

  • The warlock pauses. You see now he looks faded and blurry at the edges. His rusty, wired helmet turns towards you. "Listen, young warlock. This whole system is corrupted with darkness. We will never be able to defeat them: a single city against planets?" He laughs, a mechanical series of pitches. "The vanguard are fools. The speaker is blinded. The traveler is dead. The guardians are puppets." He extends a hand. "I offer a new world." You can feel him looking directly at you. "I offer hope."
