Yes. Crota created a "wound" in Oryx's throne room at one point that allowed the Vex in. At the time, Oryx was off meditating in the Deep/Darkness and wasn't aware. Crota and his sisters had a huge battle and we're getting kind of skunked. Eventually Oryx came back and took care of everything. The story in the calcified fragments is pretty cool. The Vex try to create a simulation to mimic Oryx, but fail b/c his power comes from a form of magic. The Vex even go as far as to start worshiping objects to try to mimic the way Oryx gets his power from the worms (probably what we see in the Black Garden), but it doesn't work. Eventually Oryx captures the Vex leader and does the old, "I'm going to reveal everything before I kill you" villain move. The Vex takes the chance to blast that information into the ether, and then gets demolished.
