Yes that is what he is called, but I think it's more of a title than a name. When Oryx was first Aurash, no title, then Auryx, still no title, then he became Oryx, The Taken King. Lineage seems to be really important with the Hive, and it doesn't make sense for Oryx to have two heirs. Crota is his heir, but what does that make of Nokris? If he isn't an heir then just another son? But what of his daughters - are females not important? But his sisters lead Hive too.. I'm not saying Nokris is his das for sure, I'm just present another possiblity. Another perspective.

 • I know what your saying i just think you're looking too much into it haha Nokris is more than likely another son of Oryx. But hey he could be the Osmium king who knows

 • I probably am, it was just a crazy thought that hit me after some long maths lectures in a hot room He could well be his son, most likely is, but he has absolutely no mention in tbe grimoire. Also Crota is his heir but Crota is the youngest right? Do you choose a younger son to succeed instead of the first son? It just feels a bit weird to me tbh

 • He could have failed oryx like crota did and oryx could have punished nokris like he did to crota when crota let the vex into their relmn. Damn theres a lot of Crotas in that sentence

 • Probably, though to punish him by removing all record save for his name on a statue? In the Book of Sorrows, Oryx plans to have children, but all we hear from that is that he had Crota and the twins. If he doesn't even mention Nokris there? why build a statue for him?

 • He could have thrown him into the vex network practically erasing his existence except that statue
