Beowulf continued his trek through the Dreadnought. He would've preferred his ATS/8 for something as risky as this, but for what he had planned, he needed his old Hive armor— bone, cloth, and Wizard's cloak. He approached the Mausoleum, carefully surveying the area. Most of the Hive were occupied with the Cabal advancement, which was good. Four stragglers remained at the gate. Easy pickings. He raised his Wire Rifle, aiming at the Hive. His Tracer and lackeys followed suite. Snap. The first went down by the Tracer's rifle. The other's became confused— what was that? Snap. Snap. Two others fell by the Vandals. The last one began high tailing it out. Snap. The last one Beowulf shot himself. All four lay in ash, the only sign they had ever been there. He approached the gate, turning back to the feud. Nobody noticed. Good. He turned back to the gate, stepping forward. If his theory was correct... Screeeeee— It opened, and he smirked, and he stepped through. He was Ascendant. OPEN

  • Artemis had been sniping away, perched high above the ongoing skirmish between Cabal and Hive. Each shot resonated in the air and hit its mark with deadly precision. She had been sent out to the Dreanaught on scouting missions for Cayde, but as of right now, she was having her fun. Something caught her attention; shrieks of the hive to her right. She took her rifle and scoped in, emerald eyes narrowing behind her visor. fallen? That was an oddity. Hades, her ghost, stirred within her armor system. "You still have the essence of Crota. Go. I'll tell Cayde." She dropped from her perch, years of training preparing her body for the impact. As she approached the portal, in opened with no resistence, the girl stepping through without a second thought.

  • He walked across the bridge, the Towers on each side humming with a long dead Hive power. The Runes were dead. The doors were open. This would be easier than he had anticipated— No. Impossible. He had felt this new light before. Right before... But she was dead. Right? He had cast her into that pit himself. No... It was getting stronger. He had to act now. He cast his upper set of arms to the air, and a rift of Darkness tore through reality. Within seconds, a Skiff flew through, bearing the sigil of the House of War. Fallen dropped through, bowing to their Kell. His lower set was cast to the sides, one at each tower. The Runes lit ablaze, the platforms around each tower humming again, and the door lighting with Runes of their own. He walked through the door, leaving the Fallen with one final order. "She will not pass."

  • "Uhm, Artemis, it looks like we're got a welcome party."Hades warned, the girl narrowing her eyes at the skiff that tore through in precise slipspace. What kind of Fallen had that kind of Hive influence? She scanned the sigils that were plastered on the side of the Skiff. Shit "Looks like a reunion."She muttered, her white and gold armor, fading into black and grey, sinking into their muddled environment. She readied her hand cannons, her riffle across her back. She smirked beneath her hemlet, if he had even gotten in her distance, she'd show him the power of the Void.

  • The door finishes closing, the Fallen readying their weapons. The Skiff doesn't leave— rather, the turret revs up.

  • She smirked beneath her helm, casting herself into the shadows. The huntress started with the lesser fallen forces, taking them out before they could even figure out what was happening to them. The skiff had targeted the area, but she had already sprinted to the other side, taking out the left flank. She was cornering them, corraling them into the center, anger fueling her. He'd get what was coming to him. She didn't know what he was after but she would make sure he'd suffer.

  • You brush past a Fallen, and before you can realize exactly what it was that touched you, it lets out a blood curling scream and swings its shock rifle at you. The other Fallen scatter, and the Skiff releases a charge of Shock Grenades.

shit, what the hell was that?! The huntress had no choice but to enter the skirmish with the fallen. She blocked the attack and pulled out a revolver, pushing it beneath it's chin and firing a round. Quickly she threw a smoke nade onto the ground and vanished for cover.

  • Laughter echoes through the chamber, and what seems like a million voices echo through your head. "YOUR... LIGHT... REEKS..." A shroud of Darkness falls across the chamber, and becomes light again just as fast. Confused, you look around... And they're all glaring at you. Not a single one moves, waiting to see what happens.

  • "We...should have stayed with the Cabal."Hades commented in her heads up display. She scoffed and sheathed her knives slowly. Never had she encountered such darkness other then the pit, but...she had overcame that. Much like she would this. Opening her palm, she called to the void, the cloud of space magic centering in her palm. She waited, her demeanor calm and reserving. She would not succumb.

  • The Skiff turns, its turret crackling like lightning. The Vandals break the stiff silence, ducking for cover as the turret fires several volleys of Arc energy.

  • She shadestepped through the volley of high arc force, the energy splashing and crackling where she once stood. Pulling her arm back, a bow and arrow formed, the girl releasing the shadowshot. The arrow raced towards the turret, the void anchor latching onto the weapon and frying the mechanics and rendering it useless. Two more arrows left...oh what would be targeted next.

  • The Skiff begins flying in her direction, lightning crackling within. Vandals peek out from behind cover, shooting Arc bolts in her direction. The Skiff releases a volley of pre-cooked grenades and sharply turns, skidding across the dull Hadium walls.

  • "Okay, this skiff is pissing me off."She said bitterly, barely dodging one of the Nades that bounced off the ground. She fired the last two arrows at the skiff, the void energy tethering it to the walls with great difficulty. Wasting no time, she ducked behind cover and taking out her rocket launcher, releasing a volley of rockets towards the skiff. Thanks to the void, the damage was tripled, the Rockets blasting wholes into the skiff. She took out her two revolvers and spun them on her fingers, stepping from cover.

  • The Skiff drops, falling into the abyss below. The Fallen emerge from their hiding places, firing Arc bolts at Artemis. From the Towers, Tracer Shanks come from behind the Rune controls, taking aim at the Huntress.

  • shit She managed to side step grenades and fire from the vandals, but a few tracers line of fire managed to hit her in her upper shoulder. Wincing, but pushing the stinging away, she dealt with the vandals, blinking behind them and dropping them one by one.

  • A Reaver Vandal draws its blades, parrying your melee and grabbing your arms. As you wrestle, a Tracer snipes you in the back.

  • The breath was knocked from her lungs as she was hot, the woman gritting her teeth. She kneed the vandal in the stomach, his grasp broken and the huntress rolling away and pulling out her sniper. The tracers were the next to go, each one bursting in a pile of parts due to her deadly percision. She looked around, gauging the rest of the fallen battalion.

  • You count a Captain with a Shrapnel Launcher and four Vandals, two with Wire Rifles and two with Shock Rifles. All begin firing at you.

  • She took aim for the snipers, two bullets finding homes in their cranium. The woman noticed, however, that she ran low on ammo, strapping the rifle across her back. Pain stabbed through, yet she pressed on, needing to do something about her wounds. She called it a gift, being able to affiliate with all three damage types, arc coursing through her as she raced towards the vandals. Blades appeared and dug into their skin, the light hungering, her wounds starting to heal.

  • The first two easily go down. You move for the Captain as he fires his gun into you, his shields absorbing the first blow, his armor absorbing the second, and the third blow kills him. The room is empty, and the door is closed.

  • "The Runes, get to the runes, let me transmit them."Hades called, the woman complying without further question. She leapt across the moving bridges, pulling herself up to the first rune, her ghost working on cracking it immediately. "Good, now the other."He ordered, Artemis already across the abyss in a heartbeat. It took a moment longer, but the run stopped, and the doors creaked open loudly.

  • The Skiff roared over the Osmium Throne, a large, metal coffin carrying the remains of Oryx's blade back to the base. The Eliksni crew sat, tired from loading the sword in such a short amount of time. But Beowulf sat in fear. He needed to keep her occupied, long enough so that the blade could be safely locked away in the chambers of his Ketch. Hopefully that wouldn't take too long. He lifted himself from the ground, opening one last rift, an empty Skiff flying through. The Fallen looked at their Kell, eager to serve. "Go back to the Ketch." They gazed in confusion. They could feel it too— the stench of the light, burning their skin! They needed this fight! But alas, it was for naught. "I must do this alone." He turned around, summoning a new rift. He walked through, exiting at the final portal. It was time for a reunion.

  • She walked through, the air in front of her bending and warping as a portal opened. The woman had expected another skiff at this rate, however was surprise when he stepped out. It didn't make sense, what purpose was it to venture into Oryx's pit for nothing? "I'm detecting a rupture not too far, fallen activity."Hades piped up. Ah. So he was after something, he had just been stalling. She hadn't cared though at the moment, keeping a calm demeanor but... anger had coursed through her body. He casted her into that pit, one she grew stronger from, slaying Crota with his own sword. "If you wanted me dead, you should have just killed me yourself." She said lowly.
