Wall of text [spoiler]I sort of agree. I wouldnt try to argue against the search for life, or say it will never be found, I just believe that the earth will end before FTL travel is made possible. We may possibly make contact with ETs before then but it will be of so little significance at the time that it won't effect anything until we actually make FTL travel, or we somehow can maintain a direct connection to them (which is definitely more possible then FTL engines, but will still be incredibly complicated to produce and maintain). Simply having direct contact to ETs is enough to expand anything. The Bible doesn't say anything special about ET's so I would consider them neighbors, just thousands of light years away. The Bible says plenty about being neighborly. It also says that God created the heavens to reflect his glory. I wouldnt take this as its sole purpose, I wouldnt be surprised if God has been up to other things as well as stuff here on earth. One of the reasons, probably not the only one but a big one, many people say there can't be extr-terrestial life is that when sentient life is found outside of our planet, it may undermine our significance in the universe. Truth is, everyone is a puzzle piece, to one big puzzle. A page in a book. A stroke on a painting. If we discovered sentient life outside of earth, you don't cease to exist, your effects don't stop mattering, your world just gets a little smaller. It may seem insignificant but everyones lives is built upon dozens of others, probably thousands of others. From parents, to the Barista that gave you your morning coffee. Even the little things matter, science proved that seeing a bright smile can immediately change someone's mood from sad to happy. Gods call for us is simply to love others and spread his word. We don't have to try to save the world. He won't hate us for being simpletons, he only judges us on how faithful we were and how much effect we had on other people. That can be from a circle of friends to an entire country. Literally reaching for the stars is admirable but you have to be realistic to your own abilities. Trying to make your goals go as far as cross-univeraal is too ambitious without the help of other people. [/spoiler] TL;DR Discovering life outside of ours doesn't make us insignificant. It might actually happen but its going to take looots of resources and funding that probably won't happen easily.

One we don't have the resources to get out that far but money isn't the problem its the time to get there. Two religion has no control over what we decide to do for even in the bible it states we were left to fend for our own free will. Three the unknown is scary because we don't understand it and that's normal but remember science is humankind's best guess with trial and error. Please remember in this world anything is capable of happening so you'd have to assume everything may or may not be the actual truth. So in this touchy subject you can't be focused on just one idea but become open minded to all that exists. Researching just one thing because you have come to be something you know is the most common setup for failure. Einstein once said if you cannot easily explain something perhaps you yourself have not come to understand it either.

But I just said its in my belief that other life forms are called Jinns. God gave us very little information on them because it doesn't concern us. We should only focus on our OWN life and help each other rather than look for other life forms. If it was a big deal, God would've went in depth about other life forms. A God does not think for you or choose for you. You were born of human choice a product of human kinds motivation to survive. The moment you voiced your belief you knew it was one sided. So in this this more about you and attention to your own agenda and the real topic is miss appointed. You want to hear my theory your belief is man made just like any religion and the truth is we are our own gods which one day one of us will save our asses. Or we are a ant farm to a higher civilization that won't erase us from the universe yet because we pose no world destruction. If there is a God I'd be leading a team to have his head that and I be going after the devils too just so that you all will understand human salvation is motivated within ourselves. It's just too easy to do the wrong thing.

In nowhere In my comments have I disregarded the existence of another life form. All I said was in my belief these other life forms are called 'Jinns'. That's all :)

We don't know much about ETs, even in my religion. It's very vague. It is not part of our life or any big importance. That's why we know very little about them.

if it is your belief, it shouldn't be. sorry bud, but as soon as we find life, this will be disproven, and I will be laughing in most of my friends faces (90% of them are christians who believe there will be no other life in the universe!)
