All of Bungie's talk about level being based on experience and not light was a ruse. Level is based on light level just like it was in Year 1 only now you have to grind much, much more to reach the max light level. And once again, the raid gear trumps all.
#INFUSIONFORALL is important because making Year 1 gear obsolete makes the mission rewards pointless.

*Salute* Yeah, when the moment they said "Light would still play a role in things" that was like an immediate red flag for me. I knew EXACTLY what that meant and sure enough, I was right about it. This planned obsolescence crap is really just not my cup of tea, and there's many like us who agree.
