Yeah u guys are right wasent thinking when I was writing makes more sense

Couldn't be more wrong. Jail is more often than not the best way to insure an addict gets clean. Good luck forcing someone to get clean who doesn't want to, outside of jail. Id love to see how that works out for you. A person who is willing to steal and do desperate things like that to their own family is even more of a danger to everyone else in society, and they usually get more desperate as time goes on. They belong in jail until they can learn to behave themselves, bottom line.

Unfortunately a lot of the time they get out and just start using again. Sad :/
