I don't think the stranger is Toax, since Toax is one of the proto-Hive (not an exo) and oryx's sisters are still alive. They leave him sometime before the hive come to earth to try and become stronger. So we can assume that they'll be in some kind of DLC.

The traveler and more "moons" existed in this place, and from what I understand it is because of the traveler the Exo exist as sentient life

Yes, but they have little to no memories of their past life. Some, like Cayde, have occasional relapses, and some Exos become thanatonauts, purposely killing themselves to gain knowledge

Taox is supposed to be a chick but so is oryx? So maybe lol. Maybe in the world of destiny women are men and vice versa

Only Hive can pull that off. But the Speaker is as big as an Acolyte and maybe he is blending in for centuries.

Oryx was a female and over time became male.
