She pulls at the Sword and hands out to you, "You have maybe term minutes before it resets onto my back."

He activates arc blade, and brings the knife down on the sword. The knife does scratch it, but doesn't do any real damage, nor is the knife effected. He then gets out a mote of light, and taps the sword with it, then a second one to tap Stellar with.
-
Both motes darken into shadow, "Your lucky."
-
"But, I did find something useful. You are corrupted, but not exactly permanent. If the Hive take the sword back, then it will be undone. The alternative method isn't exactly favorable in my point of view, but it will help me in the long run with my studies."
-
"Thanks I guess... They won't take the sword back."
-
"Looks like plan B then." He raises the sword above his foot, and brings it down, stabbing himself in the designated area, letting the Hive feel the power if they trade Hunter's life for hers.
-
"Hold up, no!" She snatches the sword back.
-
"Why not?" He seems surprised at the action, thinking that she wanted freedom.
-
"I won't damn anyone to this life."
-
"Well then -blam!- me! -blam!-ing damn me to hell! Does it look like I care how bad it will be on me? I've come too far to stop a century of research because someone is too selfless to let me tap into the mind of the Hive." He closes his optics, realizing what he just said, and how harsh his voice was saying it.
-
"You want to touch the Hive's mind?"
-
"Yes, I guess you can say that." His tone has calmed, going to a more stable area.
-
"No, you don't."

-
"You don't want what I got, plus, you think the Hive will just let me go?"
-
"When your life has no reason but finding motives, you're an Exo that has been around longer than most remember, you've mastered every class, AND you have the political influence that I do, I'm sure they will, and I'll take my chances. If you really want it, you can have the thing back when I'm done." He actually seems serious.
-
"No. You don't understand."
-
"Exactly my point. That is what I need to find out"
-
"You. Don't. Want. This."
-
"And what makes you think that?"
-
"It's a living hell."
-
"How so?" He goes back to being concerned.
-
"You never know when you'll lose control, kill a friend."
-
He steps closer, grabbing her hands gently. "Then let me help you. I can control the Vex urges. I'm already done with them. If I remove those, the Hive will be no problem."
-
"I have a Warlock friend that has conquered Cabal, Vex, and Fallen, he can't reverse what's been done to me."
-
"Your warlock friend doesn't know what to do. But I know. Let me take the affliction. My conscience won't let me forget if I don't try."
